What do you usually listen to when going on long trips in the car?

On my trip to London I stuck on a Sci-Fi themes cassette :D It was fantastic! every little thing becomes so dramatic, from over taking another car, to a plane flying over, I certainly recommend it! :D

I've got an MP3 CD player, so usually either all of 1 artist (Orbital, Chems, Underworld, etc.), recently I made up a CD of loads of live stuff, 1 from each artist. It's pretty cool, just the music I love. Loud as my stereo will go without messing up 8)

I know it sounds vague, but I try to keep a variety of music on hand when I'm in the car on long trips. What's in the player depends on where I'm driving to, what kind of road I'm on, what kind of weather I'm driving in, etc. etc. There's music for every occasion...

Have any of you noticed that almost all music sounds better in the car?

That is true. Almost, but some things will just never sound good in a car. Ska in a car wouldn't really work because you'd be bouncing around and are more likely to cause an accident.

I bought the Collateral Soundtrack and love it - its got a great song by the Roots (might check out the cd) and some cool instrumental trax by this dude named Tom Rothrock.

I love driving around pertending like Im detective Fanning on my way to see Ramone with my song on in the background.
