Just got home, it's now 10 AM. I'm still rolling a bit. My fave club in the city is shutting down this weekend because the building got bought by a clothing company, so I gathered a small crew and went out, braving the 90 minute lineup to get in one final time.
Wicked night out. Upstairs was 80's night, while on the main floor it was 'indie dance', basically your Gossips, Soulwax, Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture, etc. Had a couple pills, last minute decision, to upgrade the night. Packed house; too full, in fact, to really move anywhere. Ran into a bunch of people I don't see much anymore. Excellent.
Afterwards, ended up going for a long ride with a couple new buddies and we dropped another three pills each and kept going around and listening to music until about 30 minutes ago, so, I guess almost 7 hours, before I finally decided I needed to go home, because I have an appointment at the bank in a few hours.
Good stuff. I need to behave myself since university starts up again next week, but in the meantime I'm trying to cram as much fun as possible into the days and nights.

I'm finding out that there's never "enough" when you're partying with the guy that sells to you (or in your case, live next door). Suggestion comes in at 7 AM that maybe we should have another one. Suggestion is accepted.
Was cool looking out at the city from the top of a parkade as the sun came up. Could see the bridges, cathedrale and river on one side; the skyline of downtown on the other. Wish I'd had my camera.
And I'm unfortunately out of 5-HTP, so I'm going to need to pick some up when I go out later or I'll probably be quite melancholy later.

dude, whirly and me are drinking vodka (real potato vodka, not that grain shite) with our 'black friend'.... she's this really cool grandmother, smokes dope, loves the flaming lips... gonna try to get her to come to the show at the end of the month.

There are a couple potato vodkas available here but I've never tried them, surprisingly.
I had a great day yesterday, never really crashed, didn't sleep, just a nice pleasant day, spent some time in the sun, read a lot, went to sleep around midnight. Got up nice and early to watch Liverpool demolish Derby.
Thank you 5-HTP. I bought the big bottle this time.
I might be at the shenanighans again tonight, but funding is tight for the next few days, so we'll see. If I decide to stay in, a bottle of Shiraz-Cab is in the fridge and The Last Temptation of Christ awaits. Or a Bond movie.
(And the bank appointment went well. I'm changing banks because I hate the one I've been with for the past 7 years. Terrible service, don't do anything for me. I love the new one. First ever meeting, I don't even have an account yet, and they were rolling out the red carpet as soon as I told them I'm going to be a pharmacist.
Looks like they're going to roll all my debts into one, including my car, which will make paying for three years of school + my car cost less monthly than I currently pay for the car alone. Yay!
And my accounts manager is gorgeous. :) Although I'm going to be assigned to a senior accounts manager for professionals in the near future.)

I stayed up til 4 this morning talking with our friend, a neighbor we met a couple of weeks ago that stash/kill mentioned. It was a chill evening sitting on my patio under the clear warm sky, just shootin' the shit and talking about music (muuuuuuuuuuusic!! And we introduced her to some Chems tunes which she really dug, a lot!) I had to tone down my vodkas and blood orange sodas, though. I got surprisingly ripped which I wasn't expecting. It seems the older I get, the lighter weight I seem to be when it comes to consuming alcohol. I think I need a nap.

Not clubbing tonight, as I'm cash-strapped. And I'm in a quiet, contemplative mood, as I always am a day or two after dropping (although I'm not down at all, just chill). But that bottle of Shiraz-Cab awaits and I picked up a bottle of Tylenol w/ codeine (really, $5, for a bottle of 100. Is there a better deal out there?). A floaty, dreamy evening on the couch is only a few hours away.
Wish I had some mush or something, as my parents are out of town and tripping in the backyard would be nice. Beautiful sunsets and the night sky are stunning. Nice to live near the edge of the city, where you can really see and appreciate the sky.
I really haven't been too gongshow lately, but I've got nothing better to do tonight (not true, but I can't afford to go out), so I might as well spice things up.

I'm already feeling a bit of a buzz off a half bottle of wine and the Gravol (taken to potentiate the codeine and to relieve the opiate itch). I just took the codeine a couple minutes ago (~400 mg [minus whatever I couldn't extract from two rounds of filtering], which is about the max the body can metabolize at one time) and it hasn't kicked in yet but I can tell this is going to be a very buzzed evening. I'll try to report back in a bit. I warn that I may not make a lot of sense later. Which is really what this thread is about.
The wine, a 2005 McWilliams Shiraz-Cab, isn't that great but it was worth a try, at less than $10. I'll go back to the Chilean stuff next time, I think. Trio is pretty decent.
Friends are going to see Superbad in about 1 1/2 hours but I think I'm going to be a little too spazzy to go out. I bought The Last Temptation of Christ and Moonraker today and I'm watching the first season of Tripping the Rift right now (cool show if you haven't heard of it!), so it'll be alright. And I cobbled together a "res scraped out of my pipe" spliff for a bit later. How ghetto am I?
Anyways, back to molesting several innocent priests.

Tripping the Rift rocks.
I've got a half a bottle of Austrian Potato Vodka and a sixer of Red Stripe, about an 8th of chronic, and 10 motherfuckin double stacked Green Xboxes..... MUST SAVE THEM! MUST RESIST TEMPTATION TO DROP AND GO TO DISNEYLAND.
I'll be ok

Next time I get out your way, we have to go to Disneyland. If my new bank comes through like it looks, I want a vacation once the schoolyear ends. It might be a Mickey Mouse occasion.
I'd never heard of Tripping the Rift before last week, but a buddy lent me the first season on DVD. Cool shit.
The music running over the credits to Last Temptation would be a cool start to a DJ set.
Buzz, buzz.

Grindhouse was awesome. A tremendous theatre experience. I still can't believe I've never seen Vanishing Point. White 70 Challenger ownz.
I'm getting more and more buzzed. Very hungry but I know eating will make me sleepy. Need to hold out another hour with just small snacks. Then I'll Effie, spliff and eat. Shit, just realized I still haven't sent you a bottle. Sorry for being a negligent mofo. When I get a new bottle I'll buy an extra.
If I wasn't scheduled for work tomo I'd be out in Ontario tonight, having a wicked time in some beautiful scenery around Lake of the Woods. Too bad. Ah well, I ownz the couch right now. Fuck Schrodinger.

Grindhouse was a thrill ride. I love car chase scenes in flicks, so Death Proof had me on the edge of my seat. I was really rooton' for those girls! Can't wait to watch the extended version.
Tim, anytime you can make it back out to California, Disneyland is on the agenda for sure. As is Joshua Tree. We miss you...
And just to throw it out there, the entire soundtrack to Last Temptation Of Christ is really really good. You have to pick it up - it's called Passion. It's one of my favorite soundtracks, and it's some of Peter Gabriel's finest musical moments.

I looked on the box and was very surprised to see Gabriel's name on it. Good stuff. I may have to pick it up.
Shrooming in Joshua Tree is deffo a life goal. I'd like to get to the other side of the ocean again but if that's a bit too posh, SoCal has always been good to me and so have you guys. Would love to see you and your family again, Whirly.
Bottle of wine = complete. Now onto my custom cocktail.
Vodka = 2+ ounces
Orange juice = fill to 3/4 glass
Ginger ale = further fill to 90%
Lime juice = 3 splashes
Need a name for this if it doesn't exist already. Spliff in a bit.

I messed up the recipe. Should be fill to 3/4 with ginger ale then to 90% with orange. Made another one with a bit of cranberry juice added, too. Tastes good. 'Orange Wedge' would be good if it had more orange in it.
I think, with the cranberry in it, it looks a pretty colour, like sunset. Therefore, I'm going to call it 'Setting Sun'
Vodka - 2+ ounces
Ginger ale - fill to 65%
Cranberry juice - top to 80%
Orange juice - top to 90%
Lime juice - three splashes (or to 95%)
Consume with 400 mg codeine. You'll feel like the Setting Sun video.
I'm open to modifications/adaptations/other names/etc.
What's the recipe for 'Galvanize' again?
Still saving the spliff for the end of the movie.
