AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!
He was walking with some guy by the "Park Luncheonette" on Briggs Avenue across McCarren Park towards us (my girlfriend and I)!! My girlfriend spotted him first and as soon as he got right in front of us I just got all up on his face with a HUGE smile and extended my hand out for a shake! I can tell by his facial expression that I got him a little scared because I caught him by surprise... So then I say "GREAT SHOW LAST NIGHT!" and he goes like "Oh great thanks, are you guys coming to this one?" and I go like "Yeah, I just got here and I'm about to go in." then I really don't remember what the fuck was said because I was like in cloud sixteen thousand, but we somehow said goodbye and walked away... then it hit me... I'M SUCH A FUCKING IDIOT! I should of asked to take a pic with him on my cell phone or asked him more questions!!!!! Regardless, that made me really happy and the show was yet again, AMAZING! Oh yeah, right after I met Ed, I also met James Iha, the ex-guitarist from The Smashing Pumpkins!!!! Again, my gf spotted him first (she's good at finding celebs LOL) walking in front of us. I was a little skeptical at first but I yelled "James!" and he turned around and waited for me to walk up to him... when Im in front of him I go like "You're James Iha right?" and he goes like "Yeah, do I know you?" "Umm, no I just wanted to say hi." "Ok oh, well I gotta go and meet my friends" Then I saw him walk up to a group of people and I could tell he was talking about the crazy dude that just yelled out his name. hahaha
Anyway, I'll write more about both shows in another thread! These past two days will be engraved in my memory forever!!! =)

Taterz, I don't know why but she is a magnet for famous people! I would of eventually spotted Ed because he was walking straight towards us, but she happen to see him a block away! haha
Prochem, man...this is so crazy...I still can't believe I met him, shook his hand and had a brief conversation! what a fucking coincidence! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Oh my Taterz, you is ca-raaazy!
Ed seems cool, as does Tom. Legend has it they are 2 down-to-earth and cool guys, who just so happen to make wicked music. ;)
Good thing mario wasn't channeling the Taterz' vibe which caused leg grabbing. That would have been a bit frightening!

^ Whirly, I got him spooked out just by approaching him out of nowhere, I can imagine what he'd do If I was to grab his leg LOL. I don't think they get that attention from the public often here in the states unless you're a hardcore chems fan like myself!
How is it in the UK? Does the public run into them often?

I've only ever seen Ed n Tom off stage in the real world once, backstage at Big Day Out in Australia. We pretty much kept away, because it was just before the show and thats a crap time to ever approach an artist and they have their whole vibe going on. Given some of the places i end up, im really rubbish at the whole "approach your idols" thing. I really wanted to chat to some of the Massive Attack crew at Exit Fest but i was half way through a pljescavica (spelling? big hamburger thing) and they were looking all moody at the mtv interviewers.
Definitely need to have a girlfriend like yours to do the footwork for me :P Mine doesnt care about music, lol.

haha, awww you spooked poor Ed! Probably caught him off guard more than anything. There were some people here who met them on NYE (2 years in a row) when they dj'd their Turnmills gigs. When the Chems could have gone and had their own vip party somewhere, or simply just left, they took the time to meet up with their fans for some chit chat. You would be surprised to know how much they do in fact read the forums, and know about the people who post here. Kinda funny, actually haha. ha. ha... Have we all said too much?
Anyway, I don't know if they're approached a lot when they're out and about in the UK. The UK has its celebrities for sure, they have their tabloids, starspotters, scandals and whatnot just like we in the US do - but I haven't spent enough time over there to know if people are as starstruck as Americans. ;)

That may be the case but i was also reluctant to approach them after seeing them on some Australian tv show once... i think it was "Recovery" back then it was still running, on the ABC in the morning. They looked SOOOOO tired and your typical "hyper goofy" interviewer just couldnt build rapport. It was tough to watch but despite knowing they were just tired, you cant help but think "hmmm, they dont look too approachable".
That and they dont really want to hear me asking if the vocal chops in It Doesnt Matter were velocity to start time mapping on the S3000XL or zone chopping on the MPC, and thats about all the scope of conversation im sure id stammer :P

Okay now please post about the shows mate :) I need to live vicariously through you until they fly over here next year (we have our tickets... we fly down to Sydney to see them, hoping they are part of the Future Music Festival so we can see them in Brisbane too).
Too long to wait...
