i must have went to 9 different places yesterday, including 3 best buys, 3 circuit citys, a barnes and noble, a sam goody, and a borders, and they all didnt have "The Boxer" US EP!!!!!!!! :x :x :x Now I either gotta wait till they these stores get them in stock or I have to buy it online, and I hate buying it off the internet because then i gotta pay shipping. :x :x :x

I remember the "American" EP being in stock the first day it came out over here....why cant it be like that for "The Boxer"? :x

Did you ask anyone at these places to see if they had any copies hiding in their back rooms? Chances are, at least Sam Goody would have some (one would think since they are a record retailer) waiting in the back room to be priced and put out on the floor.

Where I work we got our copies in before street date. But until today, they were sitting in the back room. Our store has been overwhelmed with tearing down and setting up our national sales so sadly, The Boxer EP's have been neglected (not my fault, I swear!) Maybe it's the same with these other places you went to.

Unfortunately, no. Not anymore. Everyone's pretty much out of the loop unless you work for corporate. The stores themselves don't even have the autonomy of ordering music/movies/etc anymore as it's all done through corporate, catalogue stock is *supposedly* replenished automatically and *eh hem* accordingly (which explains why my store has been out of a copy of Surrender since I sold the last copy sometime a couple of months ago.) I used to get all kinds of merchandising materials - posters, flats, stickers, general music knick-knackery and freebies to plaster the store with and give away to customers - but that's not a part of the game anymore. At the very most, I can find out how much something's value is at cost and how much we jack up the price.

But I did know for a few months the Chems were aiming for a summer release of a U.S. EP. My boss went to a bunch of label meetings and someone from Caroline Distribution brought it up and my boss passed the word onto me. I mentioned it here, in passing, a long time ago but the details I was originally given were incredibly vague so it's not like my info here was incredibly earth shattering.

just got my boxer ep yesterday in mail (thanks to amazon) it totally rocks. esp Spring a perfect track and puts a smile on my face everytime.

I must say that the dfa version is bloody awesome...that's the kind of music i am really getting into these days, you know something like LCD soundsystem, Fraz, DFA Nice beats and tingling baselines and a huge build up in the end.nice. 8)

After hearing James Holroyd drop the DFA remix at the Apollo gig on the 28th I was impressed with it but now I've heard the studio version I'm disappointed. Its 9 minutes long but doesn't really go anywhere imo.

Woohoo! Bought the US EP off eBay and it will soon be on its way.

(Also bidding on a couple other Chems-related items right now. Wish me luck!)

Yeah, limited editionn CD. My bid is for, like, $2 + shipping, so I can actually afford it. If I get outbid, there's many-a-place I can pick it up online. Unfortunately, there aren't any Tower Records up here in Never Ever Land and I have every Chems-related release available here that I'm aware of (except for the Lionrock remix which I will pick up second-hand early next week).
