Structure/song wise, the song is excellent. It's got an awesome Orbital style ambiance. It isn't too short or too long, it says everything it needs to. And, it has all the qualities of a well made remix: it translates the song in a new way without deviating too far from it. Many hats off!

It lacks in the mastering department though. The vocals are pretty raw. They need some effects to make them blend with the atmosphere of the intstrumental, even just a little tricky panning at key moments. And the whole sound is a bit flat, it needs more space and definition. There's definitely a great soundscape there, you just can't really hear it.

You got a point about the overall mixing and mastering quality. I am unfortunately very terrible at it. I only added a few compressors and high pass filter to get rid of the useless low frequencies and therefore make some room for the bass and kick!
About the vocals, I wish I had had more time to work on them... Unfortunately, While I was exporting each channel as a wave file to start working on the mastering, I noticed that my automations were totaly out of sync with the song. I had rewired cubase and reason together and the problem was coming from this rewire system obviously. I only found the solution one hour before the deadline...So I had no other choice but to hurry up

Don't you have any advice to increase a little bit my mastering skills? Usefull readings or videos? I have already read a bunch of different articles. The theory is pretty much self explanatory, but when it comes to use what I have read it's far from being easy =/

Wow i never saw this thread before, and i am glad that i found it, cause i have a electronic duo band and sometimes we make some tunes. We generally do dj mixes or live sets, few times we make music ( mainly because we are busy working or doing something else) so today i like to post a tune we make...

My band name is Beat Citizens we formed on 2008, we have other tracks out there unreleased but we are pllaning to release a EP whit some cool stuff, our style is from Electronica to Drum & Bass mixed whit lots of psychedelic and folk, but we like to think we are a experimental electronic band. This is one of our first tracks of our first EP called Infinito, is a dubstep (yeah i know is mainstream now this days but i wanted to try something new) mixed whit funk breaks, big beat and for last full psychedelic effects for a worthy trip.

I listen everything but most of the times i download it first and listen to it on my mp3. I love that track of yours called summerlove, Chemical Reaction. @WN, cloud level has a sort of Marvo Ging like feel to it in the beginning. you keep on getting better and better! congrats. btw: is this the worst thing ever or a enjoyable mashup? i combined Orbital's monday with Got Glint because it sounded great in my head. i think it worked out fairly well.

Hello, i havent posted on here for long time (since WATN came out). Anyway, I'm not sure if this is the right part of board to post this in so apologies if not and i will ask for it to be moved wherever its supposed to go.

Anyway, I got challenged by a friend to put a chemicals mix together and i have done and am quite proud of it so thought i would share it with you and see if you like it or have any feedback for me.

I tried to include tracks from each album, a couple of battle weapons, most of the hits and some of my favourites. I drew the line at any of their remixes, there was too much to choose from as it was!

I purposely didnt listen to any live stuff before i made it in case i got influenced or tried to copy. So if anyone spots anything that sounds like it was copied from a live show, it wasnt intentional, maybe sub consciously as i havent exactly completely conscious when i have seen them!

I had a few recording level issues as it was distorting like mad so if its not loud enough, turn it up (but let me know and i will re-do it).

As well as full tracks i have chucked in bits of other tunes , its all listed below.

IT would be great if you could give it a listen and let me know what you think.
