ANGRY AT THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS!!!

I just found out a couple of months ago during a live chat Ed told somebody who inquired about U.S. dates that, "We're a bit iffy about the U.S., our last tour didn't go over too well there, but we are coming to Coachella!"
That's bullshit, I went to their last tour date in chicago and it went over great. Maybe the other dates weren't so good, I dunno. I've been supporting them for years and now they're crapping out on every fan who doesn't live on the west coast or New York.
Not cool at all.

Well mi'm sure there are a lot of other factors WHY the Chems don't come to the U.S. I Understand you're frustrtation man , totally , i'm just lucky to live in a country that's quite central so i can go everywhere from here. But i'm sure they didn't just base this dicision on "our last tour didn't go to great" .. Still i understand , but i'm sure they have a good reason
You dont understand our frustration. How many chems shows have you been to this year? Was it was 6 or so, I remember? ;-)

Jeez i could only imagine how bad it would be if i never got to see my chems..
God man, no need to rub it in! Of course you don't know how it feels to never see your Chems. :(
I think the people missing out know how bad it is without anyone telling them. And all those people need our support and sympathy!

However, and this is kinda my point, I have been led to believe that many musical acts / DJs, etc are reluctant to tour the states simply because of the logistical problems. The main problem being the gross invasion of personal privacy that is forced on anyone who travels to your country under the Bush regime. I'm not using this issue as an opportunity to vent my anti-bush political vitriol, but it has to be pointed out that this is a major problem for folks like yourselves in your country.
If you feel strongly enough about this kind of thing, and clearly you do, then get everyone you know to sign a petition and send it to your head of state. If you start now, things might get better in the future. You never know, stranger things have happened (like Bush being re-elected for example!)
Go on! Make yourselves heard! :)

They have only been to Australia three times and only when they are releasing a new album so I doubt they will be back anytime before a new album has been produced which is hard to accept! :(
But I guess they do have to live a life that doesn't envole travelling everywhere. But I would love to see them again!!!

I've only seen the chems once at the beginning of this year and the show is quite addictive you might say....you can't just see it once!
Absolutely ! I really wanted to see them this summer in France. They did 3 shows but it was too far from where i was, so I couldn't go... I'll be living in Paris now, and for at least 5 years so i'll have many ocasions to see them again :D

Yeah, i really dont feel that sad about it, though. i guess i just have no idea what im missing. Assuming what kwiddle said is true, the chems shows being addictive, i, never having tried the drug, dont feel much of a need for it. That said, while i may not cry everytime i remember that i wont be seeing chems for a looong time, i still want to see them terribly. Who knows, though, maybe theyll be here sooner than i think. But until then you guys keep recording em for me!

It is addictive. Seen just the one show so far, but I NEED to see more. Always more. Next year, if for whatever reason they don't do Coachella or a US tour, I will see them in Britain, if that is what it takes. If nothing else, it'll likely be a chance to meet up with more cool people from this forum.
Still choked that I had to go home for an exam after Coachella instead of meeting up with my friends on vacation in Mexico at the same time and maybe meeting up with MX for the Mexico City show.

I saw them at Centro-Fly in NYC, I saw them at the Hammerstein Ballroom (did I even spell that right?) Hell! I even saw them in Woodstock 99!
then again I'm from North Jersey
I've heard nothing but good things from people who were there during the Centro Fly gigs.
It's awesome that you were in attendance - I would've given my left nut (if I had one) to have been there!

Woodstock 99!
This is how I was first introduced to the chemical brothers..... one summer night I was staying up late and flipped through the channels on tv. I came across mtv where they were showing flashing lights and playing odd music (Hey Boy, Hey Girl). They kept on showing the audience going wild and then zooming back in on tom and ed working their equipment. I had no clue who these guys were at that time, nobody ever announced who they were, or what track they were playing, they just went to commercial break. They came back from commercial and I believe they played "block rockin beats" and then basically that was all the coverage they did of them. Never dropping the name of the band nor the song titles leaving me helpless. The coverage of Woodstock that night was over.
Time passed and more tv was watched, when another late night while watching tv, I found another tv station which played different kinds of music videos 24/7 (not mtv, cant remember the name of the channel at the time but I do know it eventually turned into mtv2.) They played the "let forever be" music video. I thought it was a very odd video and very cool at the same time. After the video ended I found out the group was named "the chemical brothers." Little did I know that "the chemical brothers" were the same group that played the Woodstock coverage I watched on mtv a while ago. I wasn?t very computer savvy at the time nor was I really into music so I didn?t really take the time research them on the internet or bother to try and look them up in a music store.
So 2 years went by and the channel I first saw the "let forever be" video changed to Mtv2. (Mtv2 when it started out, was just like Mtv, only played music videos.) So one late night of watching tv again, I flip on Mtv2. They were playing all sorts of music videos. After I watched a few music videos by different artists "the chemical brothers" "star guitar" music video started.. I knew I?d heard of this group before, but after 2 years of seeing the "let forever be" music video and little interest in music, I couldn?t really remember who they were. So I watched the music video "star guitar" and fell in love with the song. With a little more computer knowledge at the time I decided to research this song. I went on the internet and found out that "star guitar" was the newest single released off of "come with us" which was to be released in the next week. I continued to do a little research more about the chemical brothers and found that they did the music video/song "let forever be". Pieces of a lost puzzle were being put together and a interest was starting to build. So that next week I decided to give their new album a try, I picked up the new album "come with us". I continually played track number 4 "star guitar" and after about 20 plays in a row I decided to explore the rest of the album. I totally fell in love with it. I would go on from that point picking up every album that they released and almost every single they put out.
This took longer then i thought to type out
