Oh believe me, you really do need to see the great Lundgren in action in that one. A true shocker. Probably a close second to his sadly Oscar overlooked performance as He-Man in Masters Of The Universe.

We saw Mist (based on the Stephen King novella) last night. It was all right, but I didn't find it very creepy at all. Maybe mildly grossed out, but not much. The ending was a big fat d'oh!!! which wasn't a typical Hollywood ending so fair play. The biggest turn off was the most gratuitous use of a Dead Can Dance song in cinema... ever. And it wasn't just one scene, oh no - it was a series of scenes nearing the end of the film where the song would start and then stop and then start again. It was so ridiculous and tedious we couldn't help but laugh. What a fuckin shame because the song is so beautiful but it just didn't go with the scenes it was played in at all.

Just back from watching El Orfanato at the cinema, had to get in quick cos they don't have foreign films in for to long as they're not money makers. It really is an excellent film. After all the shitty cinema experiences I've had this year it was about time I was rewarded with great cinema like this.

I saw Electric Apricot at a local film festival. And met the creators. It was pretty great.
Recently saw Doomsday. And loved it. I'm a sucker for one-liner-esque action flicks and gore, so I had a blast. Heh. Mashed all sorts of genres together in what I can only seem to describe as "British Anime". Hope it catches on! Hahah.

I saw one called The Cottage the other day, British film. Initially it was about 3 blokes holding a lady hostage in a cottage in a forest, wanting £30 000 from a club owner. However stuff started going wrong when the hostage escaped and they all in turn stumbled on a farmhouse occupied by a deformed mass-murderer who enjoyed cutting off people's heads. They all died anyway. It was alright.

I saw 2001: A Space Oddessy for the first time last week. It took me three attempts to get to the end but by golly was it worth it. What a masterpiece! I'll be getting the special edition DVD :D
Just watched John Carpenters Prince of Darkness *cleans soiled pants*. Decent film

I don't know if I can claim to have --seen-- PootieTang last night, seeing as how I was playing video games at the same time other people were watching it, but I got the... jist. (And why is it every time I see the word "jist" I always think of "jism?")
I can't say it was a good movie, but it was possibly a good bad movie.

I feel it is my duty to warn everyone not to see Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Now, it's not as though I was expecting cinematic genius, but come on! At the very least I was hoping to be entertained. This Indy installment made The Temple Of Doom look like Academy Award material. It's a given Harrison Ford would look tired but everything about this film from the recycled bugs and snake tricks to the stunts to special effects to the trying-to-be-witty banter felt "phoned in". And how does a movie manage to make Cate Blanchet into a crap actress? Unbelievable. Thank god we got in on a matinee or else I'd have been seriously upset over the money wasted.
This flick isn't even worth a rental. It's not even worth a pirated copy.
You have been warned. :P

Ouch! A harsh indictment by Whirls.
I've been skeptical ever since I heard of its release--I have a special place in my heart for Indy from my childhood, and I don't know that seeing this newest installment will be a repeat of experiencing the thrills I felt as a kid.
::sigh::
I grow older...

Last films ive seen:
Into the Wild. Just go see it. It'll make u wanna change your life. This movie had me in tears simply because many things of this movie feels like its written about me. It's about a boy who leaves his materialistic parents behind and goes travelling. It's about the journey he makes and the people he meets and says goodbye to. Amazing film.
I rented 6 films and i've seen two on Sunday; Football Factory and Breakfast on Pluto.
I'm fascinated about the whole hooligan culture that used to be in England. I hate it and i think it's ridicoulus, sad and a shame that such thing excists but still i find it a fascinating thing. I watched all the episodes of discovery channels ' Hooligans International " wich was hosted by Danny Dyer, who's also the manin caracter in the film. Danny Dyer also playes in human trafic by the way, he plays Moff.
It was an alright movie, i didn't think it was brilliant, but it's a good flick to watch.
Breakfast on Pluto is one of my favorite movie's ever. I've already seen it 3 times. It's about a 'tranvestite' in the 70's from Ireland who goes looking for his mother in London. I love the fairytale film of the film against the tragic backdrop of the violence that used to be in Ireland in the 70's. The main caracter is played extremely well by Cillian Muprhy ( The guy from 28 days later ) and i absolutely love this film.
Anyway , ive got 4 more films to watch:
Hotel Rwanda
The wind that shakes the barley
Maria full of grace
and the last one i cant remember!

I really enjoyed Indiana Jones at the cinema, it's what a cinema experience is all about. It was funny, action packed and a joy to watch. I rate the original films highly, and thought it fitted in nicely with the series. I look forward to the next one :P
I watched This is England (finally) last night. Pretty shocking but powerful film. Watch it if you haven't already ;)

Yes, "This is England" is a great one, and "Indy" is really that bad (why aliens? why?). Sean Connery knows why he don't plays Henry Jones again.
Last film i saw was "La Haine" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113247/), an 13 year old french b/w-movie with Vincent Cassel. Worth seeing.

Oh, and there's this scene near the end with a spaceship that makes the landscape swirl around as it takes off into the sky and all I could think was that it resembled a toilet... and my money and the whole Indy franchise was being flushed away.
