How sad to see people adding nothing of substance other than shamelessly gloating about pirating the Chems music on this forum.

Have some respect, as Tom and Ed do stick their heads in here from time to time. Some of you ought to be ashamed.

*sigh*

I'm not sure about what the other mods/admin saw when I wasn't looking or behind the scenes - but on the bright side, most people I saw posting today out in the open (whether I agree with their stance on the piracy issue or not) seemed to get the message not to post links or requests!

I kind of thought it was the mods/admin that deleted that thread. I think it was a good call on their part.

I'm a proud to announce that I decided to NOT listen to Further until it has been released.
The reasons for such a decision are:
- After reading some posts on this forum I just realized that if I download it now, I'll do a bad thing to the guys (Tom & Ed), to me (I'll spoil the fun of first HQ listening) and to the forum (I'm so sorry to see poor Whirlygirl trying so much to prevent spreading the word about the leak).
- The quality of the leak is not full 320kbps, it's VBR (which is only 179kbps in average), so it's better to wait for the HQ CD album.
- If I decide to download the leak than it has to contain all 9 songs, not 8. And, this leak does not have all 9, but only 8...so, I'm not interested.

That are my reasons...
So, I'll be brave and stick with you guys (who are still resisting)!

You should listen to it. It's really good you know.
You're missing something.

And by the way, listening to an album in advance makes your penis bigger.

 Hey, if you think that waiting until the day of release makes you stronger or more awesome, it doesn't. It's an achievment that no one will remember.

At least you'll be able to tell your grandchildren that you were part of those who succeeded in waiting...

When you gloat about listening to Further illegally and prematurely, that's an achievment that everyone will remember you by.

Personally I think there's a lot more satifaction in hearing something you actually own.

At least have some respect for Tom and Ed. Keep it to yourself, dude.

personally if people want to download the leak then fine, i mean its next to impossible to stop albums from leaking these days, like i said before even when watermarked promo's go out, many end up online, as for general promos they usually go online the day they get sent out!

however, i have a big issue with people who download it, then not buy the cd, you're on here presumably because you have more than a passing interest in the chems, and calling yourself a fan of them, or any band for that matter when all you do is download their music for free is not a good thing.

i also have a MAJOR issue with people talking about downloading the leak, or otherwise promoting the fact it is so easy to get etc etc. if you know how to find google, then you can find where it is, theres no need to promote the fact youre going off to download the album. like i said, listen to the album early if you want, show some respect for tom and ed and keep your feelings and views to yourself on the fact you got it, i dont mean on the music, if you want to post a review do. and most of all show some major respect to them and buy the album when its out.

Defined a little more formally, "escape velocity" is the initial speed required to go from an initial point in a gravitational potential field to infinity with a residual velocity of zero, with all speeds and velocities measured with respect to the field

As I said, I'll buy this album as soon as it's released.

I'll even buy it twice (Vinyl and CD + DVD) so I don't think there's anything wrong with downloading the leak before.

If the album hadn't leaked, it would have been hard to wait (I have no patience for anything), but I would have bought it anyway. Of course, it would have been better to have a first listen with the CD, but if the tracks have leaked, why should I wait ?

I don't think it's disrespectful as long as I buy the albums and go to the gigs I can go to.
Don't take the taunting about how awesome the album is too seriously ! Or if you do so, just download the album, it's not complicated.

in general:

after my weekend full of further i wanted to write a review here. according to some opinions here, i'm waiting till the official release date here in my country. of course i will buy the cd/dvd box and for the first time the vinyl of further. i see the point of sneaker and whirly. for myself, i buy music on beatport regularly. could also get them for free on some torrent. on the other hand i think the interweb should be a place where everything is free...and beyond those neoliberal rules of the free market (very theoretical i know, but it would be nice). in the webage it's easier for people to get music or give music to others. think of the people in bagdad f.e. most of them can't buy the newest chemsstuff. if they get it illegally maybe they can find joy in their lifes. and there are a few other examples to relativate some opinions (which are a little latent ethnocentristic) about so called "illegal downloads". hope you understand my point.

personal:

for me, i downloaded further cause i will buy all of the new chemsstuff as well. my reason for downloading was: the weather and university and some w**d. this weekend i had some freetime from university and the weather was as shiny as hell for the first time this year. when i woke up, i felt very good. haven't looked at the youtube tracks from roundhouse so far (only listening to it, cause i will be slammed by the visuals at sonar for first time). and then this: i found further on the internet. sun was shining, eversthing was good. so i dloaded it. afterwards i thought (and to the posts especially whirlys ones ) i shouldn't have listening to the leak because it's not the same, opening a cd, reading the booklet and stuff.

when WATN came out i was waiting successfully for the cd release. this time not.

i would love to give a full review about further right now, but for the respect of some people here and of course tom and ed i won't. personally i don't have a problem to write a review cause there are official reviews around for each track (according to the roundhouse gigs).

to sum it up: i downloaded it because i was in the right mood. i also don't think to harm the chems because i will buy all of their stuff (as ever). but i see the point of whirly and sneaker and so i will be quiet with reviews till further drops legally.

but what i will say till official release: i really enjoy this album. i think it's nearly perfect. great, great job T&E! you boys are genius! perfect summer release.

can't wait for whirly's extendend review about this masterpiece as well

over and out!
