Done and dusted (ready, on the FTP)...

To the chemical brothers:

I hope the limited access makes this cool...

Half the folks with access have the vinyl on the way, this is just a convenience....

sorry! please understand!! ebws are exciting!

You are God Glako_Fahn! All hail GlakoMan, our saviour finally!! :)

Thanks mate!

Am sure must of us would buy it on cd when it's out anyway. N Ed n Tom dont seem the too greedy kinds - ebw 8 is fuckin history - it has to be sent out to the people!

The only downside is my connectivity SUCKS, n i'll prolly never be able to download from the ftp, the connection while downloading through windows explorer keeps failing - is there a better way?

Also one more help : I've ordered a copy of the vinyl from juno long back, they billed me right then (22gbp with fedex) and it's been out of stock. I ordered from Plastic Music last night (2 copies with regular mail delivery for 20 gbp again) - n it'd been showing status as pending, now suddenly it says "picking". I'm totally new to both these sites, does "picking" mean it's confirmed - then I'll uprade this order to premium courier and cancel the juno order. Would that be fine? I've no idea at all.

Thanks again Glako! Ace! I'll figure someway to get the mp3 versions down! *Goes looking for Dennis or Wayno!

Could someone please PM me the link to the FTP?

I had put it in my favourites but for some reason it seems to only let me on when I click on the actual link...

(PS. Pretty please with chemicals on top?)

So, for whatever reason, I cannot get on the ftp but instead get the message

"Windows cannot connect. Make sure that you have typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to acess this folder.

Details:

A connection to the server could not be established"

:( Hmm, anyone know what might be the problem?

Use Firefox.

Or it could have something to do with your Firewall settings.

Or the server is teporarily down.

Or Ed is posting their entire back-catalogue on the ftp.

Watch your hands on the record Glako, you can hear it pitching around all over the place! X-D

Cheers though. I think we're pretty safe with the current ftp and the limited access too - shouldn't have a repeat of the Biff edits.

I had to use a cheap technics belt driven model. :( I had a decent Stanton but it gave up on me! so yes, sorry about the pitch there! Had to do a couple recordings before it was even decent actually, kinda felt like it was *okay* on those.

On the bright side hopefully I'll be picking up a pair of 1200s and either Pioneer or Denon CD decks shortly... anybody heard anything nice about the denons?

Ok I gotta a problem - can someone help?

My turntable wont work anymore so I borrowed a friend's very old Sony PS 515 (Direct Drive Full automatic) - think it's more than 20 yrs old - works perfectly fine at his place with his sony amp, but when I plug the stereo output into my 2001 model Sony MHC - Z100's MD inputs the signal is too weak - I can hear the songs at very very very very low volume, even with the amp at full volume which is 4000(Peak)W.

My friend's old amp has a phono input while mine has only options for MD and Video inputs (L n R).

Does anyone know what could be the problem, or do I have to buy a pre-amp now with a phono input?

Heard the new ebw last night at almost zero volume. :(

Also borrowed the Come With Us and EBW 7 vinyls from him!! Can't figure out this problem!

You need to put the turntable into the phono input - that's one that got the pre-amp built in. If your amp doesn't have one, then you can't use a turntable.
