Glad you had a kick-ass good time Brother Ging !

Chemical Beats is a beast of a track. From the beginning of those shotgun booms to the awesome ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh!Its my best song on the tour. The best part about it is when my head is just banging up and down till my neck gets sore. If you saw me in person and that song came on, I would get fucking crazy! They also have the best vizs in the whole show. Those spinning fireworks just made my eyes melt. That song gives me the best chemical experience at the shows I been to. And it will always be in the setlist because, it's like a fucking 'anthem' or a 'fight' song to me!

Thanks for your review Chemhead, and welcome to the 'Brotherhood'!

Hey brother_ging, thanks for recording this. It's top notch no matter if it was captured on a cell phone or not. The vibe is the most essential.

I love that added sound that comes in min 1:10 or so. I hope they'll be doing much much more impros in future gigs. I do love the randomness of the sounds of their recent shows. And I think they did a classic with their segue into WATN. It's like bubbles ascending in water rhythmically crossing beams of sun light.

random sounds are very surrender

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

the whole set was full of random noises and sounds. i think much more, than in the ohter to gigs i've seen so far (vienna and bratislava). very loud sssssssssssshhhh's and bleep's all the time where they not belong to actually.

ah and yes: was ED drunk that night? -> T carried him on stage...weird and funny.

i wasn't drunk

am never drunk on stage, think that might be dangerous

i think we may have walked on stage arm in arm at the encore maybe to support each other through tiredness, or maybe as a sign of solidarity or maybe just for fun....i very much doubt i needed tom's support to walk onto a stage through intoxication

You know, there has been that question of whether you guys weren't sober at any of your gigs, but alcohol wasn't the substance in mind.

Thanks for clearing up any rumors. :)

I just had some rather amusing mental theater of Tom carrying Ed off into a sunset projected onto the stage screens. Because I am a dork like that.

Hey it's better than any mental theater based on rumor of a drunk Ed stumbling over wires and knocking down racks of equipment. That would be awful!

Good to set the record straight.

Glad to see this whole topic didn't devolve into a frothy foam of "OMG"-ness at the sound of Ed's voice.

...

Anyway, why is there no reaction to the awesome new visuals to Pills? All of the Chem's visuals are like seeing the music, but I think this is the most so that I've seen so far. Almost as good as this fan video:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=5NbnD4EMKcA

Probably would be better if you were actually there seeing it live.

hehehe, Champiness, the "OMG" factor is alive and well - you missed a giant forum-gasm when Ed came on to let everyone know Pete Tong was going to premiere EBW 8 and 9!

that was some night alright. i hope that thread's been archived forever.

btw, i think the pills live is the best thing i've heard since the first watn live bootleg featuring the mother saturate meet believe drums.

this is like pink floyd 2008, i haven't heard anything this ethereal since i can't remember.

kudos - tom n ed! i could never imagine this song done live before u showed us why u'r the gods of live music.

edit : champiness - great video that kxmode one. never could imagine a song by the CHEMS to show that! it's a new world! haha!

Glad to hear it. Apparently he mailed it to Tom and Ed to see if they could make it the official, but unsurprisingly there was no response. Quite a shame, really.

Why? The concept of the Chems being against drug use is offensive to you?

No, because the video is just okay, not amazing.

Further, I'm not entirely certain you could clearly argue that the video is entirely against drug use.

The video is all right, as music is subjective and so is interpreting the content as such - but the The Chems have said that The Pills Won't Help You Now about being old and in a rest home...
