The Private Psychadelic Reel isn't psychadelic?

This doesn't even deserve the dignity of a response but... but what the fuck!! Honestly. Someone needs to clean out their ears!!

It is the single most dynamic song I have ever heard......how can it be boring? ....and I have heard millions of songs.

Woah! In my book, saying "The Private Psychdelic Reel" is "boring" is like some sort of sick oxymoron!!

The "Private Psychdelic Reel" and "boring" should not be uttered in the same breath!

Oh well, I guess there has to be one...

Point...

TPPR can simply not be described as boring. All of the subtle harmonic changes, and those which are not so subtle, the complex rhythmic crescendos, the brilliantly timed atmospheric sounds and clarinet excursions, and, of course, the decidedly clever use of filters and tweaking from the breakdown to the final chimes weave an intricate web which strikes and stimulates the mind.

Now, while it is quite clearly in poor taste to dislike these factors (although it is technically allowed... ;)), it is plainly sad to call it boring. Such a statement only displays a lack of intelligence, or thorough consideration, or honed listening skills.

that was the fUNNIEST thing whole day. Well put.,

I agree with You! This track has in title PSYCHEDELIC word, but in fact this is no psychedlia in this! This is hard to explain, hmmm. It's has no good climate building. It's like they sit at the console and turnin on the channels one by one adding another track. this is just some sitar guitar with some brakbeat (maybe this poor breakbeat rhythm is to weak, and make it non psychedelic?). For me psychedelic tracks are: Dig Your Own Hole, Elektrobank, It Doesn't Matter, Don't Stop the Rock, Get Up On It Like This. I don't know what about this is, but good rhythm is the basic to be psychedelic but the other sounds must also be built up on the track in the special way.

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

it's confirmed.....you really are just trolling here. this post was just a bit too much don't ya think? if I am wrong here, then you just don't understand what PSYCHEDELIC really is.

Equinox's definition of 'PSYCHEDELIC' is totally screwed up. "It Doesn't Matter" is psychedelic? WTF... It's quite MINIMAL.. just heavy beats, plus few other samples on top. It's not too complex.

Yeah, it's more complicated that all new album from chems. Take for example this incredible voice mixing! And this voices in this track is fucken weird to me, the rhythm does it perfectly grundbreakin'.

Ok, ok, ok. I must clear this up. I used this word Psychedelic in opposite with the feeling wchich i have when i listening to the track. I always find in music something weird, strange non-banal. Psychedelic track to me must have a totaly repeated rhythm, strange musical notes, some efects. But this is not all. This all parts must be mixed in very special way, wchich i feel. Every peopple afected on another pieces and parts in track. It's not easy to say. It must be just mixed in especial way, wchich make me incredible kick-assing and very stimulating. When i listen to PPR i hear every instrument apart, and...it's like they turn on the Magic Music Maker program and copy and past the tracks in to it. I can't feel any enhusiasm and nothing to stimulate my brain. Maybe it's crap for me because i'am making music since a few years and i know how was it made and the techics used and so on. I don't know. PPR doesn't work on me at all. I always turn off the cd before the last track in DYOH.

I don't think the Chemical Brothers are pasting loops like you do in your amateur Music Maker program. You obviously don't know how it works.

I have to admit that if I made a top 10 of my fave Chemical tracks, TPPR would not be in it. I remember discussing this in the early days of the forum, and people were saying "Not even in top 10???", but there are songs I enjoy more. I would certainly not say it was boring though, its a real mindblowing track 8).

Does it hurt anyone else's brain trying to decipher Engrish? I think my eyes are betraying me, because the signals they send is killing my brain, or maybe it's someone on this forum that writes in the special language of Engrish. 8O ... ya know, my eyes are hurting also from reading it. Take the emoticon and draw blood shot marks on it.

o god, my brain

In more detail, i don't like the song because i find that it sounds outdated. And bland. It just doesn't click with me like any of the other songs on DYOH, and im listening to it right now. I can't feel with the climax of the song, i don't get that heavy euphoria feeling that i get with most chems songs played loud on my cd player, nothing. I also hate most of Exit Planet Dust, most of it to me sounds like outdated, choppy beats mixed together and it sounds like a repetetive mess.

My fave tracks are probably it began in afrika, doesnt matter, elektrobank, music response, sunshine, get yourself high, and alot more on push the button. I know ill get flamed, but to me, afrika reminds me alot more of psychedelia than tppr...

And as for the guy who says that because not liking a song is a show of intelligence, please go fuck yourself. What really shows peoples level of intelligence is the crappy shitty ignorant posts they make on this forum.

All right then, fair enough.

This whole discussion has become a moot point. Nobody's gonna ever agree 100% and they have their reasons.

Same old shit, slightly different medium. This is the kind of crap that divided up the old camp of Chemical Brothers fans on the old mailing list. It's sad that it happening here...

yep till a few months ago the forum was cool. with the growth in numbers, which should be cool. its now just turning into a great flaming war. some of the regulars round here aren't helping the situation to.

its a real shame cos we got this great album being released next week. and instead of people talking about the new album, the up coming tour and future singles. its turning into a place that makes me question why i spend my time here.
I'm a fuckin doughnut

Steps to fresh rejuvenation:

1) Wake Up

2) Pay Attention

3) Eight Glasses of Chilled Water Every Day

On a side note; bearing in mind the terrible English from the Polish forumites, I can suddenly appreciate Joseph Conrad's writings to a much, much higher degree (and considering Conrad, he's damn near godly now).
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.
