Oh yeah, and I had forgotten to return some books to the public library recently..... apparently late fees get pretty high when you have 7 books overdue for a month. I went to sort it out today and was shocked to find that I owed $150!!!!!

Turned out they had marked down 3 of the books as lost (over a month overdue) and were charging me full cost on them. After I returned them the fees were lowered to $50... Still, that's valuable NYE money pissed away for no good reason at all.

Nobody's fault but mine though, especially as I drive past the library 2-4 times a day on my way to anywhere at all. Lazy git!

Yeah, considering our leap-year efforts of trying to get the most people on the board... 59 is a glorious number. Thought we'd have to wait til the next leap year before we had a "most users online" party! ;-)

I was sanding the bathroom floor down using a wooden block with sandpaper wrapped around it. Played hell with my fingernails, and i'd just had a manicure that week

yeah, 12 users means more to me. It's not the number, it was the people.

iggy, you know I'm just giving you a hard time! ;)

Anyway, in the buzz of this weekend's events (wondering about Brixton, drinking too much wine on Friday and today) we went and saw Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

It was a very good film that's able to hold your interest. I read the books when I was a kid and enjoyed them, and the story translated well onto film. The cast were great especially Tilda Swinton as the White Witch - what a bitch in that film!! The scenery of the magical Narnia combined with flawless special effects (thanks to the WETA team who worked on Lord of the Rings) it was a feast for the eyes. What a great film, a nice escpae just like the books were.

I really want to see Narnia, even though I haven't read the books. Trailers make it look ace.

I can't see straight anymore. I've been studying for 6 1/2 consecutive hours now. I know that's not that long, but it's the longest and most productive session I've had this semester yet. I literally cannot see straight anymore.

I think I need a good dose of, er, medicinal pupil dilator. In tablet form, preferably. And a postponement of tomorrow's exam for a day or so. That'd be real nice.

Thanks for the sympathy! I'm boring myself with all my whining about exams, but when I posted that, all my classmates had gone to bed and turned off MSN. I'm such a whiner sometimes! :D
