I just got an iphone 3g. This is my first post from my cool new toy!! Yeah, I stood in line but the process was quite painfree, surprisingly enough. Thank god, because I was getting really annoyed with all the people asking what we were in line for. Finally, after being asked for the millionth time, I said I was waiting in line for space mountain. Anyway, I've wanted an iPhone for ages so real happy to first finally get rid of my 5year old phone and into the modern age.

I love when people say Macs are overrated. :)

But I love it more when people try to defend the Mac against those people. (Shame nobody has done so here yet!)

Both types come off like an ignorant putz.

You wouldn't give a mechanic a rubber screwdriver so why would you try and work on a pc?

their external displays btw are the finest in their price range. absolutely incredible for graphics/photo/video work.

this shit is too fucking expensive but I couldn't resist and I got one too....

AND I LOVE IT

Mac rules. And MacOS X is far more functional than Windows Vista

For those who don't have enough money to spend in a Macbook Pro, there are the iMacs which are really good and not too expensive.

I always find it amusing when Mac haters and PC haters get into an argument. It sort of reminds me of how people who drive a Chevy hate Ford with a passion. Maybe that isn"t the best analogy, but it is the first one that springs to mind.

stash hates Mac with a passion. Some people walking by the little line I was standing in turned up their noses as they breezed past. I just don"t understand the elitism, either way. I think there are negatives and positives to both the PC and Mac, and obviously what you intend on doing with your computer determines which one will be the best fit for you.

I personally like a Mac because it is so intuitive to operate and that helps with the ease of comfort of using it. They also have great sound cards and extras already built in. Applications and whatnot are readily available. But PC computers are great because you can work on them yourself and update them without it breaking the bank or having to run out and buy a new computer. I am not the most computer savvy person in the world, but if stash let me near our computer with a screw driver I am sure I could figure out how to install sound cards, etc. As for Mac, I wouldn"t know the first thing about putting in a new hard drive or upgrading the computer from a hardware perspective. I guess that is why I have a really nice, yet old, Macbook that is in perfectly good shape but is useless all the same. I don"t know how to fix it myself.

For me, I wouldn"t mind being well versed with both Mac and PC. It can only benefit you, in the end.

I grew up with both a PC and a Mac, did my homework on both. This was during the days before you couldn"t do so much with a computer like you can now. I learned to type on the PC which had the the big floppy disc drives and the annoyingly bland black and yellow screen. Later on we got a Mac. My Mac wasn"t even referred to as a Mac - it was simply called an Apple back then and even had microsoft applications (that is how old it was) - it was the first computer on the market that had a mouse. It was a great little computer and over 10 years til my old roommate fried it leaving Sim City running for days on end without a break.

Anyway, the novelty of my new toy hasnt worn off yet. I am really happy with it so far, it is so easy to use. It was either this or a Blackberry (which I found to be an annoyance to use) Both have their upsides and downsides. The iPhone just feels more intuitive to me although I admit it lacks some of the features that Blackberry has the edge on.

Macs : video editing, movie making, graphic design.

PC: games.
