So right now the main drum machines I've been using have been the Roland tr-505, 707, 808, and 909, plus some unnamed ones...I'm curious to know what drum machines The Chemical Brothers generally use.

Though more importantly, I guess I'm curious to know about more good drum machines in general. Hah. Like always, help is greatly appreciated...

Why let me tell you, when Tom can explain:

I'm sure if you were to have a good eye you'd see an elektron machinedrum on the chems stage from '02-last tour. best drum machine ever, so much fun to use!

If you get one, you'll know right away that the chems use some of the presets for songs too. I love it when bands do that, it's like an inside joke for musicians sometimes. Gorillaz, I'm pretty sure, used every microkorg preset on their second album.

Anyways, you can hear it making several noises on Salmon Dance, the clapping noise on Galvanize, very subtly on Come Inside, and in all their live shows. Plus, the mkI is getting cheap on ebay.

Also, you might want to put music production posts in the "OT: Studio Tech Talk" topic, since not all do music here.
