Hi All,

I`m new here and have a question. I`m thinking of creating a remix of Block Rockin Beats... so my 1st question is - copyrights... I will use sampler and will try to record few ideas, that I have in my head, but not sure if I`m allowed to do so...

My 2nd question is - in case that I`m allowed to proceed and create a remix of that song - where do I need to post that in the forum?

many thanks in advance... I`m sorry my questions sound a bit silly, but I need to clarify before doing that...

regards,

Fichone

Just make it. There's literally no need to clarify. Never be copyright paranoid unless you're getting ready to sell an original work.

But be careful! If the remix is shit we will ban you for the rest of your life. True story bro, i had to pay lots of money to get back here because my copy of the early live-version of Song To The Siren was übershit. Now i'm tolerated here but everyone is making fun of me. Thats why i daily think about jumping down the Cologne Cathedral.

Hi again,

Here is what I was able to create - I used samples from the original track + a couple of my own samples. The sound, that you're hearing is what came out of the sampler - no additional mastering was applied. The track was recorded live:

COOL. Fichonem you don't need the "block rocking beats" sample in there. The track would be fine without it. Try to work more with that baseline.

Not a bad remix. I like the rework of the vocals and the bass line. I realize you're doing this live, as it were, but the beat came in a bit late and it felt a bit funny. Nonetheless, keep up the good work.

Dude, Ben_J, I've seriously enjoyed your mixes. You and I are on the same wavelength. Nice work.

That god damn Jacques Lu Cont track gets me hard.

Edit: And yes, I'd love to download your mixes, too.

Great work man! I really enjoyed it and it was a good way to learn some new artists as I don't know most of these names.

okay, they probably didn't sample it but they fit quite well together for two completely different tracks

A bit more detailed description:

I was wondering if the brutal big beats from leave home would fit together with the sweet melodies from kraftwerk's ohm sweet ohm, especially when I discovered the beats only version of leave home I thought it would be nice to mash them as the brothers are clearly influenced by kraftwerk. worth the effort or as bad as "do you think i'll swoon?" :o

so the real question for y'all is: Which track did I ruin more: the Kraftwerk or Chemical Brothers one?
