That site was great (before my time not only Chemically, but before I became hopelessly addicted to the internet thanks to cable modem and this fuckin site)

I love that old site, how they tripped out on talking flowers and were taken over by the boring brothers or something like that. Then you had to eat space cake (by clicking on an image) to bring the Brothers back to reality where the cartoon of Bill Clinton pops up saying he did not inhale.

Or something like that. It was really funny! X-D

And there was that other one, the one where they blasted off into space to dig their own holes.

A mirror image of that site was brought to us by anType, I believe, when we were having a remember-the-good-old-days conversation a couple years back. God has it been that long???

I suppose I could do a search here to bring it up, but I'm not even sure where to begin!

I blow.

I tried doing a search here, but I should've known I'd get pulled into some weird vortex where valuable time is sucked up reading posts from waaaaaay back.

Figures. :?

Anyway, is anyone up to task of finding the real old Chems sites? I did a quickie search on Google but my Google skills must not be up to par. Or something.

Now I really want to see those sites.

Oh man!

Talk about memories of the Come With Us site... the first Chems messageboard community.

I remember logging on to the old messageboard one day and being routed to the current one we have. I heard there was going to be some reworking of the board but almost had heart failure anyway. All those threads from the old board must be lost in time, but it would be fun to go back and read everything from that era, especially the gigs.

I like this new site so much better. It's easier to navigate all around.

Still want to find those way back sites but I'm not having any luck. :(

Great find :D

The land of planet dust feels so 90's imo, it reminds me of how it used to look when i started to use internet. It's great that these pages are preserved, once again : Great job :D

Oh yeaaaah... I remember Jupiter. He's a tad bit delusional, was my impression.

I believe anType was on there. I know I was on there! I remember my brother-in-law stopped by after we saw them at Coachella. He read my review not knowing what my screen name was and he posted something like a "hell yeah!" in response - then called me later and asked if I'd read this review he saw on the Chems messageboard. X-D

There were a couple of people who stopped by that were on the old mailing list (which died right before the board was launched.)

I'd love to know if all that is archived somewhere.

Was anyone else on the old board?

Oh yeah that was the 13-year old wank who would always talk about aphex twin, kinda creepy, think he was the one that claimed he lived with Tom and would come on the board saying he was Tom or Ed, yeah this board is much better. They had to have an admin come on and say that if they did post it would be in a special red font.

Months ago I tried to search long and hard to find the Exit Planet Dust, Loops of Fury (Chem bros vs. the boring bros), and the DYOH one but had no luck. I loved the ending of the exit planet dust one with Bill Clinton saying "I did not inhale" That also had that creature on the mushroom, the internet was so cool then.

I thought the website during come with us looked much better with the white panaramic bars, but this forum is much better since the other one didn't even require membership.

Oh yeah, Biff, I totally remember you from that old board - I'm sorry I forgot to mention you!

Man, that Jupiter character. I think he said something along the lines of Tom and Ed still living together, but I can't remember if he said they were stopping by for dinner or if we all jumped on his case and made that up while making fun of him. Then he wrote a rash of questions for Ask Tom & Ed, to which Tom replied "you worry me, jupiter."

At any rate, it's good to see you posting frequently again.

Any chance you got to see the Chems when they opened for New Order? Do you still live up in N. California?

There was never any red text, but there was someone named piku on that board who seemed more than knowledgable when someone asked how they do what they do on stage. (I would love to read that again!) And he said a nice 'thankyou' when someone wrote a review of a Centro Fly gig and mentioned how Star Guitar was like ecstasy on wax. He didn't post often but a board regular asked flat out who it was, since piku had a sort of "insider tone" to his posts.

I'd be willing to bet that piku character was one of them.

Piku was probably Ed at his computer with a 6-pack, I forgot about that user. I missed the New Order/Chems show!! That was bad on my part, I had no job and money at the time and I found out 99.9% of my co-workers from the record store went there. I'm tempted to fly to the UK in december to see them since I missed a good show.
