So, my girlfriend and I were taking a drive with the six year old. He has a couple of his "own" CDs, but for the most part he enjoys what we listen to. His CD (They Might Be Giants / Here Come the 123's) was about to end and I was looking for something of my own to put in. Suddenly he starts chanting "Doodie Head! Doodie Head!" I asked him why he was saying that and he told me he wanted to listen to the CD with 'Doodie Head". I asked him which one that was when he responded, "You know, Doodie Head...the bubble gum song." It then hit me that he wanted Do It Again; we listen to We Are The Night quite often.

I can see how it might sound like "Doodie Head" to a little kid, especially when the words 'bubble gum' are already going to get a child's attention. We then let him know that the words are actually 'Do It Again'. He responded, "OOOOHHHH, I get it now." Sure he does. :)

For what it's worth, he seems to enjoy a good deal of electronic music, the Chemical Brothers in particular. Lucky us. His favorite track is Piku Playground (live). He says he likes the way it makes the car sound. Woo-Hoo!

rotfl!!! That's awesome.

I used to have this video of my son dancing to EBW7 with a bag of chips in his hand. He, too, enjoys electronic music. He's 5 years old and he came to visit me here in San Francisco for father's day, and HILARIOUSLY he started doing some rave-like moves to some cheesy beats that were on the radio. I turned off the radio, told him to come over to my computer, and put on Sasha's Bloodlock off of Airdrawndagger.

No joke, about half a minute into the song he says to me, "You're a genius, dad."

Nice one pooter! My 4 year old son loves "the song with the drums" (BRB/Siren live) or "the scary clown". Hasn't yet called me a genius, but he'll be prompted next time!

The worrying thing is the increasing amount of High School Musical and Abba (thanks, Mamma Mia) that my 6 year old is listening to... Work to do, methinks.

I left a WATN cd at my friend's house one time on accident and he listened to it and his favorite song is the one he calls the "Bubble Gum" song. I brought him with me to the chicago show and he said it was the best concert he's ever been to.

Awww, that's so cute satur8! <3 Doodie Head. I love your kid already! It's so cute how they come up with their own names for songs. And the other forum daddies in this thread are teaching their kiddies well, indoctrinating them into the chemical realm, muahaha!

When my son was about 2, 3 years old before he could pronounce such complex words like Private and Psychadelic... he used to ask us to play The Reel. All the time. He called it "The Blue Song" because the Dig Your Own Hole cd was blue, and blue is his favorite color. He used to say the end of The Blue Song sounded like planets, haha. Not really sure what that means, but kids' imaginations are so fresh like that. He also like Sunshine Underground (once dubbed by him as The Sunshine Song) and Star Guitar (aka The Train Song, because of the video). He wants to go to their shows because lazers intrigue him and he wants to see the giant scarey clown head, hehe. Now he's older, he sings some of the songs, or imitates the sounds in some of the songs which is funny. And he LOVES The Salmon Dance and he'll sing all the words except for the "n" word. Once he asked, "Mom? Why are Tom and Ed saying the "n" word, that's not very nice" and I had to explain that it wasn't really Tom and Ed saying that, but this guy named Fatlip. Now that he's older, he still likes what Mom and Dad listen to so I'm glad for that. I could go on and on about all my son's chemicalisms - but that would put you all to sleep. But I think I've got one of the coolest kids on the planet.

I remember, when I was young, maby 3 or 4.

I saw an exterminator entering my house...

and asked him..

"What is that apparatus you have there mister?"

I dont even know how I knew that word, let alone the correct application of it.

Very cool, about your six year old, @Satur8.

The benefits of listening to Chems music during childhood!

1)Higher IQ levels!

2)Quicker admittance to 4 year College!

3)Professional DJ and multi-instrument performer!

4)World Tour concerts while still in Elementry!

Cheers to all the 'Chemical Kids' :)
