Hi specialk, EBW 8 has not been released but it's been previewed during the last few gigs and at Turnmills on New Year's Eve.

I don't know if there's any live sets with this tune that's been uploaded to Stephen's ftp (found in the last page of teh Chemical Brothers Live Downloads thread in the Sets forum) I'd go check for you right now but I can't access the ftp site. :?

I heard the "Animal track" twice, in London and in Central Park, NY. I thought nothing of it when it was played. Are we sure it isn't anything more than just a new remix of Hoops or EBW6?

Absolutly positive, it was nothing like Hoops when it was played at NYE, a definate track in it's own right. Although it may not actually be an EBW, that's speculation.

:? Huh, I know the part your talking about, since I recorded it and have had many a listen. I really thought it was just a modded form of EBW 6/Hoops... I guess this must be some really early form of it or maybe not at all. It really sounds like the part right after the first guitar in Hoops, just fiddled with a bit and then some cymbals come in before it goes all out EBW6 =\

according to sompe people, the little beat joining EBW and S2A is in the EBW8, but EBW8 is not the remix of EBW6 you can hear in London 2005

As far as my sketchy memory will allow, irishfan asked Ed on NYE and Ed confirmed the "Animal Song" is indeed EBW8 and should be released within 3 months (well, 2 months now, I guess).

Unfortunately, I didn't know I was listening to it when they dropped it at Turnmills. :(

I highly doubt that at some points during that evening, you even knew where you were!! X-D

hahaha, no doubt!

Actually, I was shockingly more or less "together" (haha, terrible pun) on NYE, at least until I got into the vodka back at Mips and started running the pool table! It was more fear that I wasn't together that had me sketched about talking to Ed. I was way more out of it on cold meds, beer, and chron on your couch last summer! :D Everyone was actually quite surprised when I said how much I'd consumed over the course of the night.

That night remains an odd combination of crystal clear memories and one big, happy smear across my soul!

:? I don't think it can be heard at all on that recording (unless we're talking about different recordings here)

I mean "between S2A and EBW6" it's the strange noise...
