absynth is a beast to get yoiur head around -
to change the presets u need to go into the 'patch' option at the top - here u can adjust your oscillators and modulation routing, with FM capabilities
LFO and Enveleopes r self explanatory, a cool feature is the rhythm envleopes, its how u get that delayed plinky soudn withiout using dealy - its more controllable than that.
tbh the presets are amazing, so i wouldnt worry too much X-D
good luck! 8)

oh, and as for the electrobank synth i reckon its either the jupiter or oberheim expander, generously coated in distortion, reverb and delay :D def analogue though, not VST.
u could maybe replicate in vst with the minimonsta or something, but u wont get the same sort of tone.

What mippio said. You won't be able to emulate anything from DYOH with a VST. It's all analogue with guitar pedals, resampled and resampled again. In fact, I think you'll find most of the more interesting sounds in tracks have been sampled, run through various obscure effects, resampled, chopped up and run through effects again (wash hands and repeat). Experiment and have fun, and you'll come up with some great sounds.
