I may not have internet access for the next few days, so if I don't get the opportunity, I would like to now wish all of you a wicked New Years. Especially to those of you hitting up Turnmills, make sure to give Tom & Ed my best and have a fucking wicked night.

Tonight I'm going to catch Kav from the Happy Mondays DJ (hopefully lots of oldschool Chems remixes) and then I'm picking up my passengers and we're going on our merry way immediately after clubbing (leaving time 3:30 AM). It's about a 7 1/2 hour drive, but I've got coffee, energy drinks and caffeine infusions to get me through (not to mention the Wu-Tang Clan and the Prodigy amongst other discs).

And as soon as we get there, we are hitting the hill for some serious boarding. So the next time I catch sleep may be about 32 hours from now. And I am likely to be very drunk then.

Anyways, whether you're pubbing, clubbing, staying in, house partying, keeping sober or getting Darkstar'd, hope you all have the best of nights and a fantastic 2007.

Cheers,

Tim

Play it safe out there kids: and to the Turnmills crew - have fun stormin' the castle, go ape, let the podium pandemonium commence, and someone please remember to bring some cigarettes for Ed in case he runs out!

Gettin ready right now to go out for our belated anniversary date.

The only consolation I have that I'm not gonna be at Turnmills is that I have as many, if not more, drugs than any of you will be on... except maybe the DJs :P

Have a great year guys!

I will raise my beer bottle sitting on the couch watching the ball drop.

For people going to clubs don't forget to kiss that hot brazillian next to you, this might be the only time you'll get away with it.

What a way to start a new year, with Saddam's execution. :-|

I will probably be drinking heavily tomorrow night. By the time the ball drops PST, most of you Turnmills freaks will have hopefully found a nice place to rest your head!

chemicalreaction, I didn't feel sadness necessarily, but it was really disturbing watching the footage of Saddam having a noose put on his neck by hangmen in ski masks. Having this televised just... the whole thing just doesn't sit well with me at all. I could go on but I don't think this thread would be an appopriate place to start ranting about this subject...

Alright, this'll be a marathon post or two + pics to detail the sordid mess that was this past weekend. Four vehicles, 14 people, more alcohol than I have EVER seen sessioned in a weekend in my life. Absolutely amazing time but I think I aged a bit and took years off my life expectancy.

Anyways, last Thursday night I went out to the Pyramid to catch Kav from the Happy Mondays DJ. Had a fantastic time. Because I had an 8-hour drive ahead of me, I didn't have a single drink, just split a small joint with Mike. Had my eye caught by this absolutely stunning looking girl (and her equally attractive friend). After about 3 hours I finally grew the cojones to go chat her up. Turns out she's really nice, found out a bit about her, and scored her number. Sweet! Kav is technically an awful DJ (no mixing, just beatmatching) and the set was a bit directionless but he played a lot of fantastic tunes.

Leave the club, pick up Richard and Mary, drop Mike off, pick up my luggage from home, rendezvous with the other three cars and convoy off. Mary had to do some paperwork at the border because she's a South African national. The drive there was really nice, lots of good convo and great tunes, pretty scenery, the roads are outstanding. Nevertheless, by the time we get to our destination, I'm physically running on fumes. Our cars had gotten separated on the highway and three of the four vehicles got lost. The roads were a bit rougher and Tyler got into a minor accident that totalled the front driver side of his car, leaving a hole in the radiator that leaked coolant. Everyone was fine though.

It was a consensus that we would not go snowboarding that first day, we just all picked a tiny sportsbar across the street from the hotel in Virginia, MN and began to get absolutely battered to forget the drama of the previous couple hours. After everyone had put down a fair few drinks, we discovered pitchers of beer were only $6.95. Needless to say, the final damage was 23 pitchers consumed in total. The staff there were so friendly and I think they were getting a bit worried about us so they gave us a bunch of free pizza. Went to a pawn shop and we were sorely tempted to chip in on a gun. Probably a good thing we didn't. Eventually we went back to the hotel after raiding the liquor store and carried on partying. I estimated I'd had about 15 drinks before someone dared me to beer bong a 40 ounce bottle of Olde English (an absolutely disgusting 8% malt liquor). I bonged the first one in the bathtub, but slipped and fell while doing so, spilling some. So, of course, I have to do a second one, which went with complete verticality. I probably had a couple more drinks after that but it was a bit messy and everyone passed out pretty early. I left my room around 12:30 to go back down to the hot tub, but it was closed and I was so hammered I couldn't remember what floor my room was on. Ended up crashing in one of the other two rooms we commandeered.

Woke up the next morning feeling fantastic. Refreshed, invigorated, and no hangover. Now, off to Giants Ridge for some snowboarding. Again, we get lost. Three of our cars convoy but leave town the wrong way and we end up driving 40 miles out of the way on absolutely treacherous roads. Finally we pull over for directions and get to the hill. Snowboarding commences. I'd never been before, and it was a bit difficult getting the hang of it. Still, it was absolutely thrilling if admittedly the most painful and difficult thing I've probably ever done. Shot some pool in the chalet and just generally had a nice day.

Got back to Virginia in the late afternoon and it was time for some more partying. Got the room parties going, one of the doorframes got broken b/c of a prank involving taping across the doorway, booze down the hatch in large quantities. Eventually a bunch of us guys start hitting up the bars that are lined up and down the street, find a couple hotspots, get pasted with free shots and cheap beers, then find a nightclub. Take over the dancefloor and start hitting on everything in sight despite the complete lack of quality to be found. Good times. Nearly lose my $110 hoodie, go back to hotel when the club shuts down, drink more, sleep.

Wake up with a crushing hangover, but it's nothing snowboarding can't cure. After the first couple runs I felt great again. Bailed really hard getting off the lift one time and I think I might have a partially torn ligament in my shoulder from it. Eventually we pack it in and make it back to town where we start getting primed for New Years Eve! Unfortunately the pool was closed because someone from another party group had thrown beer in it the night before. :(

Quaff some vodka during yet another room party and am feeling pretty buzzed by the time we go to eat. Go out for Mexican dinner with Wes, Elaine, and Tyler, have an absolutely amazing meal, a new Mexican beer I'd never tried before, and a $19 (!!!) shot of tequila that was nothing short of amazing. Back to the sportsbar for some pitchers and the Packers-Bears football game. Everyone's getting pretty wrecked.

Back to the room, where I've made it an absolute mission to polish an entire 40 ounce bottle of tequila. With the help of about 3 or 4 others, that bottle is gone in less than 40 minutes. I probably had about 15 ounces of it myself, straight up, in a plastic cup. Not the best of ideas, but I still felt good... at that point. The rest of the evening is a bit of a haze. We go back to the nightclub, and apparently I bail hard and smoke my head on the dancefloor. I wake up the next morning wanting only the release of death, and covered in permanent marker (thanks guys!). Had intended to stay up until midnight California time (2 AM local time) and call 'stash and Whirly but I was unconscious and my phone was broken.

I'm in no state to drive (was still drunk well into the afternoon), so Richard drives thankfully. We hit Pizza Hut buffet and then get on the road. I can't sleep but I feel just awful. I later decide that my dancefloor fall has left me with a moderate concussion but I'm still in decent spirits. We make it to Grand Forks, North Dakota, where we go shopping. I'm feeling okay at first, just strung out, but then I start getting really sick. I can tell I'm approaching hypoglycemic shock, so we get food (for the record, I voted against McDonald's, but I was outvoted). Food helps a lot. Back on the road, make it back across the border. I'm beginning to feel nauseous again from the concussion and being in the back seat of my tiny coupe and just in so much physical pain from the snowboarding and my many falls in snowbanks and danceclubs and whereever else. My cell phone is broken from one of my falls and this is a crushing blow to me. I live and die by my cellphone and I've realized now that the number of that gorgeous girl is in there. Not good. I'm on the verge of cracking when we finally get into the city which has received over 2 feet of snow in the three days we've been gone. My car gets stuck in front of Mary's house and we have to shovel it out. Eventually I finally get home where I just pace and rave and get nearly delirious from feeling strung out. I imagine that is pretty much how meth addicts feel but I guess I can't be too sure.

Can't fall asleep so I smoke half a joint and watch Less Than Zero. Finally sleep, but whether it's the concussion or the weed or what, I have crazy dreams all night and have closed-eye visuals that are interesting but not particularly wanted. In my dream I candyflip and it feels so real and I ended up murdering the rapper Ghostface Killer. When I wake up I am convinced I need to go to work but I'm still high from the candyflip. I finally resolve reality, nap for a couple more hours then awaken. I'm feeling much better now, midafternoon, but am still really sore all over my body and more than a little upset about the cellphone.

Was an absolutely amazing weekend, caned it harder than I've ever done before (and there are many of you on here who have seen me cane it pretty hard before). Wish perhaps I'd made a couple of different decisions and I think it will be a few days before I feel completely back to normal. I feel like I did a lot of growing up on this trip despite acting like an immature jackass most of the time. With any luck I think I may have just moved on to the next stage in my life. Can't wait until all the bruises are gone and I can get back into school and attack it with a bit of intention.

At any rate, just a wicked party weekend that probably went a bit too far, but no one got seriously hurt and I would like to think I've learned a lesson or two. Time will tell.

I'll let the pictures do the rest of the story. That'll be the next post.

$110 isn't THAT much. I bought it last year, when I had money.

The cheese game was both fun and retarded and I shudder to think about the smells that will be coming from the roof in a few weeks.

And the 23 pitchers was just on the first day, and in addition to all the drinks before that. I'd estimate NYE I had about 30 to 35 drinks, far beating my previous high.

Oh yeah, and I forgot that on the second night I had a bottle of wine (a nice Shiraz-Cab) before cracking into my 26 ounce bottle of vodka. And whatever else I drank. It's hard to remember. I probably put down about 70 or more drinks over the three days and nights. That's probably close to about right. And definetly far far wrong. Never again? X-D
