Pretty sure this has been asked before somewhere down the line, but please help me. Everytime I hear this song when I hear the phrase "I was under the influence" I always thought it was an actress by the name of Fairuza Balk (she was in American History X as the girlfriend of Ed Norton and played Adam Sandlers Girlfriend in one of his movies) am I right?

Who is saying that? Where does the sample come from? What movie is it from?

Thanks y'all

Shit, this is a stretch, but I think I remember reading in the old "Ask Tom and Ed" section on the old Surrender site that it's a friend of theirs saying it... maybe...

Ermm, my bad totally - chemical_si's right I think.

I was talking about that other sample "I don't know what the fuck's goin on in here.", I think. It's weird, I do have some faint memory of the old ask ed n tom carrying that question, n they sayin a friend under the influence to the under the influence sample. Anyone else remember?

I remember that bit. They said it was a friend, but the details are fuzzy for me. I'd link it if I could. I used to have the old Astralwerks site with the Ask Tom + Ed on it bookmarked, but the link now takes me to 404 Not Found land.

I'm pretty sure they said it was a friend. was a joke or serious?

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Missy Elliot on Music: Response?? What?

How cut would you be, a ridiculously good singer and the Chems go ahead and vocoder your voice till it's almost unrecognizable hahah

Missy sampled an older track "I got what you want, I got what you need...yeah" and used it in one of her tracks, then the Chems sampled that and I think that is how/why Missy is in the liner notes on Music Response. I might be a bit wrong there though.

not sure on the other samples in question, but I would also like to know.
