OK, rant of the day.
I don't hate my job, but I'm really starting to hate the evergrowing corporate entity I work for.
We did not get any Galvanize singles. No imports, no domestic releases of the single.
I could've sold 2 today including one for myself, if Tower Records wasn't so corporate with their centralized buying system. This would not have happened back in the day, when we had specialized buyers (we had a classical buyer, dance buyer, jazz buyer, etc.) within the store who were in charge of placing orders for product. We always had new releases on the shelves, and always made sure catalogue was in stock. It's so different now.
I've seen so many changes within the company over my time there, and I tell you this centralized buying SUCKS!! It is no way for a record store to stock and sell records.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
