1) Are there names for all the battle weapons, i'm thinking about 6 and 9 dont have one to my knowledge

2)Is the bit of singing at start of "Sunshine Underground" a sample or a guest or one of the band?

3)Is there truth in rumour that they got asked to mix "Wonderwall" by Oasis and "Begging you" by Stone Roses?

I had some more but i have forgotten them so I will post more when i remember them

1) Nearly all have names.

1-5, 8, and 10 - rereleased with new names
6 and 7 - rereleased without new names
9 - never rereleased*

Number 9 is the only one without a real name. All the fans call 7 "Acid Children" and 6 just "Hoops", when talking about the live shows. Wikipede says EBW6 is named "Hoops (Remix)", that's not official and no one ever says that.

This is relatively unknown, but there are 2 or 3 official Chemical Brothers ringtones out there which consist of some insane synth sound. One called "Wizard" is the intro to EBW9, and another called "Elektron" uses a sound from EBW7. These could be the names of the tracks themselves, or just the name of the synth line (like Hey Riff or Delta FX).

2) It's a sample from Patrol by The Charlatans (Tim Burgess's band).

The Chemical Brothers previously did a remix of Patrol, which is where they obtained the clean vocal samples from. The lyrics in Patrol go "On a way, to get back home and see you today." The Sunshine Underground just uses "On a way" and "today". Here's the vocal in the Chems remix

3) Both are true.

On Wonderwall:

"They did ask us to remix Wonderwall when that first came out but basically we didn't know how to do it,” -Tom
"Yeah, that would have been good to do, it was a fairly big song,” - Ed

On Begging You:

The only (internet) proof is from the Wikipedia History section. Before you say that's not trustworthy, all the history stuff from 1995-2002 was originally added by Dave, the guy who ran the Planet Dust fan site. He sourced a lot of his information from interviews in magazines and the like, so the Stone Roses remix was likely mentioned in print somewhere and it still hasn't made it online.

*Brotherhood doesn't count.

Wow, thanks. very comprehensive answers.

Yeah I remember reading something in select about begging you and how the roses had basically imploded and nobody could make a decision about anything so the new drummer ended up turning it down or something but i just wondered if anybody new any more

on patrol - cant believe it was that, i listened to that the other day and didnt realise

No prob, let us know if you remember the other questions.

I just realized Elektron is a synth/equipment brand, Tom uses a number of them both live and in the studio. Elektron's probably not the song name, then.

Great post but you know too much, and I don't like that. Why haven't you sent me these ringtones?

The interview that i sampled for my last chems mix was from 1997 , some anti-nazi gig promo. Anyway, in it the chems were talking about remixing and one thing they mentioned that they had been offered a supergrass track but they declined it because they felt they couldnt add anything and they really liked the track the way it was. Has anybody got any clue that track was? Would love to know.

My guess would be one of these:

Richard III
Late In The Day
Cheapskate
Sun Hits The Sky

Whoa, you mean from the Anti-Nazi promo release? Been searching for a copy of that for ages.

This is the first time I've ever heard of that declined remix. I think Souphead's guesses are right on though.
