Just played the T in the Park festival in Scotland w/ The Charlatans (10 July). I also sat in with The Chemical Brothers on their set (11 July). I sung live with them on a song called 'Life Is Sweet', which I also sung on back in '94 on their album called 'Exit Planet Dust'. (a classic...) I also played it live at a few of my solo shows... my very own rock version! It's a great song, so we are gonna try it again later this month at the Fuji festival (31 July) in Japan & also next month at the Benicassim festival (8 August) in Spain! Also look out next year for another collaboration between myself & The Brothers

After what Tom said at Glint and now this from Tim.

Got to think positive: better later than never!!! :)

It really is a long long way away. I think it would be easier if people didn't keep making threads about it! :'(

Hopefully some singles will fill the void.

I am all for them taking their sweet time, and even though it's hard to sit it out and even though I may say "I can't wait to hear the new record" it's just that I am excited to hear what's up. I want this record to be a grand achievment for them and like sneaker said, this record shouldn't be a rush job.

This new prodigy album actually took one year to make....oh and the remix of girls that will on the single and has maxim on it sounds more like the old prodigy and is probably better than the original :o

I heard the new Prodigy today (well, I heard the 5 five songs straight through and the rest at intervals.)

Overall from what I heard, it's rockin. It has a great opening song, Spitfire, and that really sets the tone of the record. It's gritty, crunchy, and it's pretty hard. I know Prodigy enthusiasts will love it, and those who enjoyed Crystal Method's "Tweekend" will like the dirty sound of the Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned.

Whether or not it's worth the 7 year wait is one thing, we'll see how well it's received.

On a side note, I heard it through a wea rep who brought in an advance copy for me to listen to. I didn't get to take it home and the disc was "watermarked" meaning, if any unauthorized copies are made they can trace it back to the person who received the watermarked copy. I thought it was an interesting tactic from the record company.

I finally heard AONO too and I really like the path Liam has taken. The only track I don't like is "Action Radar". Favourite would have to be "Shoot Down" followed by "Spitfire".

I've been listening to the Chems heaps lately, so the tracks don't really seem to go anywhere, the beats (which are thumping) are very repetitive but I think that's the point; it's punktronic!

It's also a kick in the ears, in a good way. :) I'm very keen to see them live again with these new tracks!

I've never heard of this before, and not quite sure that they could acually do that. Assuming that it is possible though, You could have always done it the old fasion way and just record the outbound audio of your cd player. aka

^ I'd never heard about or have seen watermarked promos until today. I guess watermarking is a new thing, and I *think* it extends only to authorized promos/advance copies given to label representatives. I'm not exactly sure how the technology on these things work... :?

There was no way I could have taken the disc home to copy since it wasn't mine - I listened on my boombox while at work.

watermarking is coming to save the music industry!!!

http://www.iis.fraun...d/watermark.pdf

there is an mp3 shop my mates are always going on about. its a shop that catters for the more soulful side of house music. but basically they are waiting for digitial water marking so they can protect all there mp3 sales from being distribute illegally from the purchaser.

apparently the watermark is totally embeded and cant be removed (i'm sure some people will take that as a challange). even if you record the track to an anolgue source and back to digital the watermark will still survive. clever stuff!!

This is pretty clever, and definatly a brilliant idea. Hopefully it all be in place properly by the time the chemical brothers hand out their promos for their new album.

One thing is for sure though, you will never beat the pirates
