This experience is fairly high concept. I'm with you, Champi, I wouldn't mind seeing more experiments with these types of events later on.

Dunno, maybe some athletes were there, I saw a girl with "Team GB" written on her sweatshirt, but I couldn't recognize anyone, even among those who didn't wear make-up or a mask. But it would be pointless if they aren't fans of the band anyway.
I can't say I didn't have a great time, I did during the screening but I just couln't share it with anyone. Most of the people were really unreactive, even when the opening synthline in HBHG dropped. When I thought they were screaming, it actually came from the audio of the concert. I managed to hug dotman anyway.
I forgot to mention the confettis, they dropped at the beginning of Leave Home.

The event seems like a good idea but the timing seems poor. Obviously, this would have fit nicely with the premiering of "Don't Think" , but 4-5 months later? hmmmm.....
Plus, shouldn't this type of thing be happening at major music festivals. The clown makeup and trainers alone would make great viral marketing. I know the Coachella community would eat this up like crazy.
For what it's worth, I would need a few drinks in me before that clown makeup would go on my face.

I feel you bro.
My experience with "Don't Think" was far from special. I sat in theater with a total of 5 people (the theatre could seat a little over 100+). Me, my brother, and 3 random blokes that arrived late and left early. Depressing to say the least. I did the most to enjoy myself by dancing in my seat and conducting the songs like I was a conductor (which I tend to do at the live shows when I get carried away). But there was no love. I guess it's partially my fault though. I missed out on the big Chicago viewing due to a family emergency. However, was able to catch the premier of my local showing the following weekend. I just didn't imagine it was gonna be that empty. Kinda gives me clarity that the suburb I've been living most of my life is a piece of shit.
Superflash was wank worthy though.

I was with Chemicalmat, his girlfriend and some friends of theirs who didn't know the Chems. To be honest I wasn't expecting it to be a lot of fun since we were only a few people, and all sitting. What disappointed me the most was the sound, really awful for a concert screening.
But THAT event in London, we weren't in cinema conditions, we were in concert conditions, hundreds of people, all standing, some already drunk...there's nothing that can justify the way it turned.

Looks like it was really cool. Everyone with the clown make-up or a clown mask, visuals from the concert projected on a screen on the side, the dancing guy, the baloons from Saturate, the Doctor...

EDIT: I guess the reason this wasn't as awesome as it could have been was that it's basically an Adidas commercial, piggybacked on Don't Think. Maybe if just the Adidas jackets were mandatory and the clown makeup was optional it would have been a little more concerty and a little less... weird?
It looked really cool anyway, based on the videos (but again, it's basically a commercial, so it's supposed to look cool).
