These things happen because they do. I doubt most artists are ever to eager to anthologize, save for the nice payday they get for doing relatively little. But, its one of the unfortunate side-effects ot being on a major label that most successful artists are anthologized often, and more often than not without their consent ('Millenium Collections', anyone?).
Good for the Chems - they at least get to have a say in what they want to put out.

I think the greatest hits idea is something the chems themselves have wanted as well. You may remember someone asking them on the Q & A section if they were going to release something like this. Tom said something like "it would be great if we could release one so you could listen it in the car with all your mates".
I think Tom and Ed are definately in the driving seat when it comes to deciding what to put on it. If Virgin records were putting it together themselves then I don't think they would come here and ask us for help!

That's funny, because if I'm not mistaken this is a "Singles Collection" not a Greatest Hits Collection.
More or less the titles mean the same thing, but from my respective, calling it a singles collection seems to represent all the years they have been around as the Chemical Brothers releasing singles from their albums for their careers. It's decent and as long as the price isn't too much then it's a good way for fans to celebrate their music at the same time. I think it's perfectly understandable, and their DVD collection will be even more worth the wait.
