Hey guys, just a quick yes or no question:

Is there a place to legally buy and download the album and play it on systems other than Microsoft's?

I completely disagree with the Record Industry so buying the CD in a store is out of the question. Just curoius if there's some where else with the DRM a little more lax. I do have to say though, looks like a good deal since they are at 192 bitrate.

Recording to a CD and re-recording to computer is out of the question (too much loss of quality).

Thanks guys.

I do admire that you want to obtain this record legally. Why not buy it in a used record shop?

The record industry doesn't make a cut off of used records. They've made their share the first time around.

And there's always ebay.

No matter which way you slice it, legal downloads are giving the record industry a cut, in essense they have to.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

Recording it to PC and re-recording it to CDR won't loose any quality at all if you record to wav. It'll be 1219kbps better quality than a 192kbps downloaded mp3.

The big problem i find with recording on to CDR's is the gaps between the tracks, it is terrible when it is a recording of a mix album, whenim in my mates car he has some copy of some of the 2 Many DJ's album that are ruined.

Should be an option to turn that off in your burning software. If you're ripping straight to wav then there shouldn't be any gaps between tracks like there are when ripping to mp3 (mp3's leave a very short silence at the start and end of the track which makes the CD "jump" when skipping between tracks.

I would second going to second hand music stores. Thats the only way I buy music now cause I really like getting the whole package with the artwork and stuff. I got my Push the Button the Saturday following its release at the local flea market in perfect condition for 10 canadian, and I got Steve Lawlers 2 disc GU Nubreed album for only 6.95 canadian!

Great way to save money, acquire something legally and get the whole thing, just have to be paitent sometimes and it all works out :)

A way of eleminating the gaps when burning own CD-Rs is by using Nero, and under track properties tick overlap tracks, and then select frames from the drop down menu. Insert about 40 frames into the empty box and it should work a treat. I did that with a couple of the Back To Mine CDs and it worked fine.
