Check it out.....

No brothers this year but considering the low number of dj sets this isnt surprizing.
I voted for Andy C, Adam Freeland, Fatboyslim, Justin Robertson and Chems, with few of them featureing or doing very well! This poll allways seems to be dominated by the trance djs, I really do not understand why as in my opnion trance is rubbish and so so boring. Having seen PVD and AVB before I really dont see the big deal about them, they really lack a good style and the power djs such as the Chems have.

Trance is pretty fucking easy to make a dj set out of given that it all sounds the same. That crap is like putting together legos, they match up with out any real challenge. Hip-hop, I will say requires alot more skills than putting too much hair-gel in and finding a flammeresq silk button downshirt followed by acting so egotistic that you think you're better than both Hendrix and Lennon. Hip-hop mixing requires many more levels of talent than syncing two songs with the same drum beat, it requires scratching and typically it isn't just switching off records every 8 minutes. I think this list only focused on trance/techno because in regards to physical talent, there are alot of other genres out there where the 43rd runner up for skills would still put Tiesto to shame.

Be interested If the poll did not include trance djs and was just based around breaks, dnb, house, techno and hip hop. Trance djs allways seem the same and very dull with little raw talent.
Im sure however the poll will be allways trance dominated, Im surpirzed dj sammy hasnt won it allready!

Well... Biff sorry but i'm not really agree with you. You are in confusion, because you put on the same way technique and feeling.(i'm french, sorry my english is not perfect). I mean that you forget ONE thing, the biggest. A turntable is not an organic instrument. You can't make melodies or compose a song. Scratch is before everything, a noise. So, first, a turntable is bridge to play music. Not a a instrument to make music. That the first point.
Indeed, scratch is difficult. I can talk about it because i'm a "DJ" and i scratch. The Crab, Flare, Attacks etc etc are pretty exciting techniques. BUT you have to know that from the time that music can be enjoyed by people (start of the 20th century with jazz for exemple) and specially in rock, you are waiting for an awesome performance. But if you make the connection with what i was saying DJ (except scratch)can't be performers that jump everywhere. They can dance or enjoy the piece of music that they are playin. Exemple the chemical brtothers.
I mean that electro dj's have to found a kind of language. In his book, Laurent Garnier explains pretty well how he sees his work of dj's. It's about telling a story, make pepole travel. Jeff Mills, the legend, the famous "Wizard" is one of the most interesting DJ. See him work on his 3 turntables and make really good set is exciting. De plus, you were comparing to hip-hop. Do you know that Eminem (i don't know if you like him) himself was coming to see and listen this "wizard" aka Jeff Mills.
What i want to say it's that for me it's to different thing. Technique doesn't have to overcome the feeling and it works for the feeling. BUT i'm totally agree that this list is bullshit. Hip-hop dj's like Mix master mike, q-bert, cut-chemist, dj shadow for the most famous are excellent, and make you become crazy. Finally i think that we should'nt opposite this two thing. I scratch for exemple on track like "Panic" of Underground Resistance of "The Beginning of life " from Mike Perras while there are house and techno record. It works well... when it is well made.
cheers and sorry for my bad english.
