Here is what they say in What is What:
THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS
Singles 93 - 03
http://www.astralwerks.com/chemical
We've got some absolutely huge news this week. Our
dynamic duo are returning to the US for a run of DJ
gigs. These dates are hot off the presses but already
word is spreading fast. Our spies who saw them
headline the DJ tent at Glastonbury this summer tell
us that Tom & Ed are in absolute top form behind the
decks so we're expecting nothing less than sheer
amazement. Dates are below and tickets will be on sale
sooner than you can say "Who is this doing this
synthetic type of alpha-beta psychedelic funkin'?"
Don't miss these rare DJ gigs in celebration of the
brand new release, ‘Singles 93 - 03.’
Oct 18 Los Angeles, CA, LA Sports Arena
Oct 21 San Francisco, CA, Mezzanine
Oct 22 Chicago, IL, Transit
Oct 24 New York, NY, Centro-Fly
Just two weeks remain until the hotly anticipated
release of the aforementioned ‘Singles 93 - 03.’ The
collection of classic Chems songs as well as two brand
new tracks documents a decade of block rockin' beats.
The early birds among you can pick up the
limited-edition CD release which includes a bonus disc
of rarities, b-sides, live tracks and unreleased
music. It also includes a chance to win The Golden
Path Ticket and a chance to see Tom & Ed DJ on New
Year's Eve.
So let's recap. 24 total tracks of Chemical beats plus
a stab at a free trip to spend New Years with The
Chems. Not a bad deal, if we do say so ourselves.
Speaking of The Golden Path Ticket, we just couldn't
wait until the CD came out so we've set up another way
to win. Click on over to
http://www.astralwerks.com/chemical/ now and enter
online. There's no purchase necessary but the prize is
identical -- you and a guest could be off to
who-knows-where to see Tom & Ed DJ on New Year's Eve.
There's lots of new stuff on the the Chems site,
including all kinds of downloads like wallpapers and
AIM buddy icons and a really comprehensive discography
of EVERY release, as well as a history of every Chems
performance. And while you're on their website winning
trips (perhaps), downloading goodies, and remembering
classic performances, be sure to check out the
stunning video for the new single "The Golden Path."
Tom & Ed's take on the corporate rat-race is
inspiring, wickedly funny and yet another triumph in
their long line of mind-blowing videos.
Speaking of videos, our dear friends at MTV 2 have
just informed us that they love the new Chemical
Brothers video as much as we do and have added it to
full rotation. Tune in starting Monday to see this
amazing new video in all its wide screen glory. Next
week we'll be telling you about a special edition of
MTV's subterranean that will be a true Chems love
fest.
Still not enough? Fine--we'll even throw in a free
download! Up until release date on September 30, you
can download the track "Otter Rock" from the Bonus
Disc in the limited-edition of 'Singles 93 – 03.'
This track is brand new, never-released-before Chems
goodness, and it will expire 30 days after you
download it, so act fast and click over to
http://www.astralwer...3/download.html
‘Singles 93 - 03’ is out September 30 on CD,
quadruple-vinyl and DVD retrospective. Stay tuned for
more updates on this milestone release.

I think it sounds a bit unfinished...
perhaps that's why it wasn't a b-side... I don't know if it's just the quality, but does it sound like there is some guitar in there?
Also I'm amazed, I thought this was going to be a really old song (probably cause the name is more instyle to there dust bros track names) but it sounds like something from surrender, to me it's like freak of the weak because it's got those orgasmic drums (in contrast, it doesn't change rapidly like freak of the weak). In sum, I am way more impressed than I expected to be

I am a little bit dissapointed. There is something about this track. It get kindda boring after 2 minutes..I think it's the quality...which sucks...
It doesn't make me wanna listen to it one more time. Ok i play it...it's nice but one more time no way sir. Sorry but this track just didn't clicked with me.
This track might be an unfinished b-side from Surrender. Yes those drums are Freak of the Weekish. but not quite...seems to me like this track was probably made during the transition from DYOH and Surrender.. IT does have a little bit of Elektrobank feel to it

Oct 18 Los Angeles, CA, LA Sports Arena
I am so so excited about this, I may end up wetting myself.
No, not really. But I am excited!!!
The LA Sports Arena is a big place, seats over 16,000 - god I haven't been there in over 10 years. According to ticketmaster.com, the Chems are taking part in this year's Audiotistic (a mish mash of dj acts, starts at 2pm) Tix are $35 - $150 (yikes!) So if some of you are really planning on road tripping out here, get crackin!
:D

otterrock... upon first listen, Wow! And it get's better and better with each listen!
I think I'm in love with this tune. I love how the flanging guitar melody dips in and out, I like the raw acoustic guitar melody too. I like how everything just drifts and especially dig the organ melody that comes in at 1:13. Nicely textured, nice drums, everything fits together wonderfully and it's quite psychadelic. Yeah, the download has a tinny aspect and so what - I can hear so much going on in this song. It's really different than anything they've done before, no real squiggly type sounds which have helped previously define the Chemical style and there's a great balance between the organic and the electronic. Overall it makes me want to head out to the beach on this fine sunny day, spread out on a nice grassy area overlooking the ocean, and just watch life go by.
