I'm impressed by the graphics, dialogues and global directing, but have to say appart from that, it's a bit boring and repetitive.

it's like : cutscene => shoot 20 people => cutscene => shoot 20 people => not enough painkillers => died after shooting 19 people => repeat shooting those 20 people => died again after 19 kills => get one free painkiller => shoot 15 people => use painkiller => shoot 5 people => cutscene => shoot 20 people => cutscene => shoot 10 people with sniperrifle => cutscene => shoot 20 people => cutscene => shoot 20 people => not enough painkillers => died after shooting 19 people => repeat shooting those 20 people => died again after 19 kills => get one free painkiller => shoot 15 people => use painkiller => shoot 5 people => cutscene => and then repeat all steps you've done since your first one, just with different locations and different cutscenes

Is it me or is every story within a game about betrayal?...
Talking of betrayal, the recently announced Splinter Cell has decided to put its middle finger up to fans by replacing Michael Ironside (Sam Fisher's voice/character) with a younger, douche, who has an everyman voice. They have ruined it, and now he's going through deserts in the daylight like any other character with a gun. Not happy at all, in fact I may boycott it.

Speaking of Max, agreed Iggy, it is no longer Max Payne 'of old'. But it feels like one. It took me 2 days to finished it, played it 10 hours max. I can very well believe that it gets quite repetitive after 20h of playing, but I would have to be very hard pressed to find one game that came in recent years that is not repetitive in some way, not to mention original in terms of gameplay or story. Long gone are days of creative companies like LucasArts or Black Isle, of Grim Fandango, Loom or Baldur's Gate. These days I'm happy to find some story to cling to in games, since everything else, for my part, is repetitive and quite boring. Sad, isn't it?

I enjoyed the game, but I just remember the controls (360) being a headache. I thought it was a fun concept, and found that it had several similarities to the first installment of Portal.
I know a lot of people felt gypped shortly after it's release date because of all the hype from EA and a MRP of $60. It didn't take long for 1st person shooter fans to start bashing the control system and complain how short of a game it is.
Otherwise, yeah, I agree. A nice hidden gem.

Sony's PR statement read:
"It was felt that by focusing our investment plans on other Studios that are currently working on exciting new projects, we would be in a stronger position to offer the best possible content for our consumers."
Studio Liverpool was in the middle of developing a brand new Wipeout game for the PS4, which was to be "drastically different" from other Wipeout games, as well as a Splinter Cell-type game with motion capture tech beyond the tech used in LA Noire. These would have been PS4 launch titles.
Needless to say, I'm gutted.

I won't bother playing it, the first one bored me to the point where I couldn't be arsed to complete it.
