Hola wayno52!

@Pooter

The escapades at my job are very very long lunches, private conversations with the opposite sex, and dvd's of '2 and a half men' and 'family guy' on my laptop.

Gotta have some R&R at work!

I feel so bad for the Travolta family. I can think of no worse thing, no worse punishment from the heavens above than having to bury your child. It's not supposed to be that way, it just makes me so sad...

I shamefully admit to peeking my nose in the tabloids (It must be a girlie gossip thing) and read what catches my eye, but it really gets to me when these tabloids thrive on kicking people when they're down. I personally think tabloid television shows are a waste of air time.

I Agree! It's such a private matter and they deserve their space.

Tabloid TV! shut those shows down!

And the same goes for the Paparazzi, which I think California should sign more laws against them for taking pictures of the celebrities' children, and blocking their cars when their trying to drive away!

The paps here are out of control. It would be nice if there were some more laws in place to protect peoples' basic rights to privacy. It's one thing to catch a pic of a celebrity walking down the street, shopping bags in hand and minding their own business - but it's a completely different thing when they are chasing down celebrities in their cars and endangering everyone on the damn road. Or hanging out in front of peoples' houses (or even hiding in the bushes) waiting for that money shot - and disrupting everyone else's lives day in and day out in the process. Or hanging out in restaurants and hotels and disrupting patrons and staff. We're all human and voyeuristic to some degree, and seeing celebrities and people we put on pedestals acting and behaving just like regular people do brings even the most famous of celebs down to our level - but there's a line that's crossed when it stops being entertainment, and just ends up being sad, horribly invasive and dangerous. It's a miracle more people haven't died the way Princess Diana did.

I went to the pet store today and I saw the coolest thing! It was an RD-D2 fish tank. It looked just like R2-D2, but a little smaller - about 2 and a half feet high. I swear if I had $80 I would have bought it right then and there.

Wow--pretty awesome.

My girlfriend's cousin is a Star Wars fanatic. As in, he has an entire room in his house dedicated to his Star Wars memorabilia and collectibles. I wouldn't be surprised if he had this. Heehee...

Wow that is awesome. I've just satisfied the inner child in me and got LEGO Star Wars for DS, love it.

I couldn't buy a fishtank! I'm bad with pets! Fish seem to die on me for some reason. My cat is already a handful for me, and surprisingly still alive!

Gran Torino!

I haven't seen Gran Torino, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it whenever I get around to it.

I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I very much enjoyed it.

This past week I worked nearly 70 hours. Fuck.

Can sympathise with you on the work hours Pooter - 236am where I am, and just finishing up. Inherited a terrible project from a terrible manager that quit before he got fired - and still get to do my usual dayjob on top of that. Still, it's a job...

Ooh, there's nothing quite like having to make up for other people's incompetence. Feel free to vent in the thread I just created! :)

In other news, I get to visit my girlfriend this weekend and I'm taking Friday off. FOUR DAY WEEKEND! w0000000t!

It's been so gorgeous here lately. Over the weekend, the weather at the beach was sublime - the water was crystal clear and the tide was the lowest I've ever seen it. Right now i wish I could be anywhere but cooped up in an office. There's not a cloud in the sky and the air is free of haze and smog and you can see the ridges in the low lying mountains. I should've played hookie from work!

Have a great getaway pooter!

As expected, Circuit City is closing the curtain on all of its stores. Liquidation starts this Saturday!

Their site gives a final goodbye!

That is all, have a great weekend peeps!

End of line!

Went to see David Byrne last night - he's touring stuff he's written with Brian Eno. Great show, loads of old Talking Heads stuff. Also complete with 3 dancers on stage totally involved with him - one leapfrogs him when he's doing the solo at the end of Once In A Lifetime.

If anyone likes him, or are Talking Heads fans, I'd recommend going when he hits US and Europe over the next few months. Great stuff.
