Hmmm... best opener...
1. Come with us
2. Block Rocking Beats
3. Leave Home
4. Music: Response - a fourth place doesn't mean I don't like it ;-)
Best ending track...
1. Alive Alone
2. The Test
3. Dream On
4. The Private Psychedelic Reel
I think I'd have to disagree with you.. ;D
Music:Response is just soooo cool.
Opener:
1.Music:Response - how can you make a song cooler than this? and the "u.f.o" sound....
2.The sound in BRB - vrooooommm
3.Come With Us
4.Leave Home - I don't think this is all zat amazing...
Closer:
1.Dream On - possibly the best Chems track.
2.T. P. P. R. - "
3.The Test
4.Alive alone
But thats just me....

2)Come With Us - Very energetic, good for a opener
3)Leave Home - Very good, but a LITTL dull in the middle
4)Block Rockin' Beats - Great beats, but nothing to special
Best Ender 1)TPPR - How could anybody not think this is by far the
greatest chems track of all time?
2)The Test - Great song (lose the vocals)
3)Dream On - Best vocals mixed in a long time, I never
have trouble sleeping to this
4)Alive Alone - Nothing reallt hit me in this song (ZZZZ)

But I will say a couple of things in regards. To be frank I really disliked most of CWU when I first heard the record in its entirety - save for a couple of songs like Afrika, Galaxy Bounce and The Test. Perhaps I didn't know what to expect or maybe I was just being too harsh. Or maybe I was just having a crap day. Who knows. The first times I heard Galaxy and Afrika were when the Chems spun them at a festival. The energy from hearing those tracks at full volume, dancing around like a lunatic surrounded by all kinds of other dancing fools - you know, stuff like that makes a difference when you go back and listen to the song again in a different setting. Such joyful experiences do have a memory andjust listening again brings back a little bit of the experience.
Second - the more and more I listened to CWU, the more and more I liked it. I began to hear things in the songs - notice suibtleties - that I didn't hear before because my judgement was clouded or I was impatient with what I was hearing. Giving CWU a couple more chances realy helped me come to appreciate the direction the Chems were going in.
Third. I had the opportunity to see them this last time around when they did a live set. Now, I didn't think too much of Star Guitar and frankly (even though I liked the song after a while) it was my least fave track on CWU. Then I heard it live and my perspective of the song changed forever. Actually, I developed a love for Come With Us after that show that I didn't have before when listening to it in my car or at home. Again - the live experience helps or at least (if the band is good) gives you a whole new and positive outlook on the tunes. I remember reading an interview with Tom and Ed and they said that their music is made to be listened to by lots of people, meaning, in a live setting. This could not have been further from the truth for me and the many other dancing awestruck freaks who experienced most of Come With Us in concert.

I think The Test is sick like the flu.

I'd like to change my opinion on The State We're In; perfect length and beautiful, 9/10
Oh, and on star guitar. I'm listening to Dream On right now... Star Guitar is surrender. 10/10
You know what? Tom n Ed, subconscious-ly (or concious-ly??), made each track on CWU have the sound of the other albums...
Come With Us - this is a sum of all intros, though the "button dance" is awesome (and vrmm on BRB).
It Began In Afrika - this one has a refined sound of EPD
Galaxy Bounce - this ones for fun, DYOH
Star Guitar - this one is something completely different, Surrender (WTTWA)
Hoops - this is so EPD/DYOH
My Elastic Eye - this carries their new sound, very similar to "the state.."
The State We're In - new sound, much diff from other female vocal tracks by chems
Denmark - this is definitely DYOH, just listen to it!!!
Pioneer Skies - its their new sound and the difference of WTTWA, a masterpiece
The Test - EPD anyone? and their new sound....
Thats what I think.. How about anyone else?

Come with us
Great opening sequence and the 'evil' sounding voices. Don't like the radio edit however. (8/10)
It began in Afrika
Cool drums, like this version better than the longer single version. (8/10)
Galaxy bounce
Cool track, can't compare it to TR version cos I haven't heard it. (9/10)
Star guitar
My favourite dance tune of last year (10/10)
Hoops
Love the bit where they drop in the beats after the guitar sequence at the start. (7.5/10)
My elastic eye
Has the same effect as the ending to Leftfield's '21st Century poem' when turned up loud (I think so anyway).(7.5/10)
The state we're in
Nice chill out track. Like the bit where they speed it up at the end. Denmark doesn't sound the same without it! (9/10)
Denmark
Huuge choon!!!! (9/10)
Pioneer skies
Agree with what antype said about intro and ending etc. (6.5/10)
The test
Its like The Reel (should I have said that?), it reaches its peak near the end. (8/10)
I think Come with us is one of the best dance albums of last year (along with Royksopp's Melody A.M.--you must have heard about them by now!)
Anyone think the opening sequence to 'Leave home' sounds like that of Kraftwerk's Ohm sweet ohm?

"Star Guitar is surrender. 10/10"
- yeeepp. star guitar would have been perfect on the surrender album - just after the 'Surrender' track or before 'Got glint?'
Or as a replacement for the 'sunshine underground'
-the studio-k version is much better - no safri duo crap and no boring down beats at the begining...
but 'sunshine underground' is still a great track....
....surrender is really the best album from the brothers!

In time I've noticed one thing: people I make listen to CB, they split in 2 catogories: who likes the first albums style in general (like in DYOH and in EPD) and who doesn't like'em at all; so I ask myself, what's the problem with CWU? :? Let's out singles like Ehi Boy Ehi Girl and BRB, and The Test, too, they had conquered (?) their hearts thanks to radio broadcasting and videos' beauty (or coolness?).
By the other hand all this makes me think: ehi, I'm about a real fan! Bah... :)

AFRIKA - 7/10 Didn't like the single version the album version is so much better + great outro to galaxy bounce a real club hit like HBHG
GALAXY BOUNCE - 8/10 Great bassline it has that c.b recognizable beatz...hard to explain
STAR GUITAR -10/10 It took some time before I really liked it but after I saw the video and heard the live version/temptation i realized it's a master piece it gets better and better like TPPR
HOOPS -10/10 Great intro with nice hip hop beatz, first time I heard it i liked it, don't know what more to say
MY ELASTIC EYE -8/10 Haven't heard anything like this before, very inovative but i don't like that buzzing sound
THE STATE WE'RE IN -3/10 Too slow for me but nice outro to denmark
DENMARK -6/10 Nice track but it lacks enthuziasm...nothing new
PIONEER SKIES -6/10 Great track in some moments it could have been the. sunshine. underground. part : 2 but way too short, like anType said it has no middle
THE TEST -6/10 Has great moments i liked it first time i heard it but after...it kind of sounds too simple, nothing inovative, doesn't feel complex like other tracks (TPPR and TSU)
This is my PERSONAL review of the album. I am sure some of you disagree with me but everyone one of us has some reason why they like C.B and I like them because their music is unique, they have special style and they don't give a fuck if i or you don't like it, they just do it.
P.S
All C.B tracks should be listen at high volume or even better live, only then you experience all that energy put into the tracks. I agree with Whirlygirl it gives you different perspective on band.
