The whistling villain (huge Tarantino reference), movie starts and ends with the same line, the stereotypically gay German, Cate Blanchett's accent, characters have no development, actually there is some really poor characters in that movie.

To me, it felt like a poor, low-budget Jason Bourne movie.

Ronan is excellent though.

Do people reference Tarantino? Tarantino references and steals from a lot of other classic Directors. Whistling is whistling...no one Director can have claim to that. Bana's accent started off well but went a bit Arnie as the film progressed.

Hanna is in the mail, ordered it from Amazon. Couldn't wait for the Dutch release with the risk of the Chemical Reaction extra not being on there. I hope to recieve it at the end of the week.

So you're too quality-centered to buy from iTunes but not enough to splurge for Blu-Ray?

Uhm had a delay rewachting it. Not certainly is not a bad movie but it isn't as good as I expected it to be reading English press. But the main reason I have to rewatch it is The Chemical Brothers score. I have watched "Chemical Reaction" extra (with only Tom talking about the score on the phone!!!very dissapointing) which gave a bit more inside info. They've created the whole soundscape for the film with ambient sounds turning into the soundtrack. Can't say it's a bad thing, it's strange to hear the music in this way. Oh and the order in which the music is played in the movie is completely different than it is on the album.I'll try to make a chronologycal order at the end of the week.

Soundtrack Awards set Discovery noms
Breakout work to be lauded at Ghent Fest's closing night

The composers behind "Hanna" (the Chemical Brothers), "X-Men: First Class" (Henry Jackman) and "Limitless" (Christopher Paul Leonard-Morgan) are among the nominees for the 11th annual World Soundtrack Awards' Discovery of the Year competition, to be handed out Oct. 22 at the 11th annual WSAs at the Kuipke Events Centre in Ghent, Belgium. Also nominated are Alex Heffes ("The First Grader," "The Rite") and iZLER ("Hamill," "Natural Selection").
Discovery award is significant in that more than one past honoree went on to win an Oscar for subsequent work, including Michael Giacchino ("Up") and Gustavo Santaolalla ("Brokeback Mountain"). Santaolalla was initially recognized by the WSAs in 2004 for his "21 Grams" score, while Giacchino was honored in 2005 for "The Incredibles."

Last year's Discovery recipient, Abel Korzeniowski ("A Single Man"), went on to score Madonna's King Edward/Wallis Simpson biopic, "W.E.," which just bowed in Venice.

Nominees are determined by the World Soundtrack Academy, which is made up of 313 international members from the film music world.

Ceremony marks the closing night of the Ghent Film Festival, now in its 38th year and the first of a handful of fests that trains the spotlight on film music.

So I have rewatched the film this morning. It's a nice film. What I like is the hints and suggestions to fairytales. Marissa off course is the wicked whitch what shows in many ways.
The music really is a soundscape for the film. Sounds in the film evolve into score. It really is The Chemical Brothers throughout.

So I put the music into Chronological order. The track number in front of the titel is the actual tracknumber on the album. Tracknumber with multiple sounds, like track 13, are sliced into 13a, 13b and 13c.

Here goes:

3. chalice 1
6. the forest
15. sun collapse
5b. chalice 2
5a. map sounds
16. special opps
17. escape wavefold
2. escape 700
9. Marissa flashback
4. the devil is in the details (with excerpts as intro and outro of 11 the devil is in the beats)
7. quayside synthesis
15. sun collapse (yes again)
8. the sandman
10. bahnhof rumble
1. Hanna's theme
- Marissa flashback excerpts
19. container park
- the devil is in the details excerpt
13a.interrogation
13b.lonesome subway
- Grimms house excerpt
18. isolated howl
- ?????????????
12. car chase (arp worship)
13c.Grimms house
14. Hanna vs Marissa
- container park excerpt
20. Hanna's theme vocal (during end credits)
11. the devil is in the beats (during end credits)

Within the film the devil is in the details and container park are returning themes.
There is missing 1 track on the album which is ????????. This track can be heard when Hanna escapes from Grimms house, goes to an internetcafe and then going to grandmothers house (fairytale:).
However, this track is on my computer. I downloaded it from this site. It's saved on my pc as "Hanna - TheChemicalBrothers.com - Official Forum for The Chemical Brothers - Page 93". I thought the title was henchmen with a video on the Hanna website but I can't find it anymore.
So if anyone can help with that one (Tom are you reading this?) to locate where it originated from.

That's the one nicknamed "Hanna" (its location on the website: http://www.hannathem...aracters/hanna)

There's a lot of other material that never came out on the soundtrack, like a much spacier Car Chase, the edits of Hanna's Theme, etc.

If it's OK with the mods, I'll post a .rar of it.
