Phil, you are on FIRE with the picture LOLs.

My venture down south to see the Brothers this time around will only be as difficult as the 4 hour bus trip from D.C. to NY; the 11, 13 and 15 hour flights from San Francisco to London, Amsterdam and Barcelona, respectively; and the 617 miles driven from Santa Cruz -> Oakland -> Santa Cruz -> Coachella.

This is to say that when it comes to The Chemical Brothers performing, I have limitless energy to spend on getting to the shows and back.

Pictures are much better representations than words sometimes.

My limitless energy seemed to left my body around 20 years ago Poot. I would assume you're the 'Energizer' bunny of the forum.

Parking's going to be a bitch, so reserve a space!

Estimated end time @ 10PM!?!?!?!

http://events.myspac...emical-Brothers

So basically its a three hour concert where a nice valuable hour for chemical material is wasted between Chromeo and yacht!! nooo!!! now add with that noise regulations!

i sense some bose around-ear headphones will be issued at the gates and pre-installed vibrating chairs synchronized with the bass for an inhanced experience.... sniff*

It did say "estimated." ;-)

I'd say it's probably good to go to the show with realistic expectations about the sound and time of day, but other than that, the Chems are still absolutely phenomenal performers and their show is the best I've ever experienced.

Bring good energy. That's all you have to do.

The remaining tickets for seats are 'blah'! No offerings for a better close up to the stage.
Couldn't they have some contest or something.

My last plan of action is as follows:

Attached File(s)

morning all,
my only advice for this gig is to get tickets as close to the stage as you possibly can.unfortunately the venue enforces a very strict db limit, so the nearer you are to the speakers the better! we will do all we can to deliver a loud gig but apparently some of the residents on the perimeter of the venue do not enjoy bass heavy electronic psychedelia on their sunday evenings...shame!

I thought this was worth repeating, since it's been said they'd do the best with what they've got. I also believe thesouphead said earlier on to expect some noise reduction and early endtimes for this venue.

As Pooter says ot best as a fan, all you need to do is bring good energy to the show.

Just gotta have faith in the Brothers and that it will be as good an experience as we all hope it will be. No need to set yourself up for disappointment. It makes no sense to complain about something that hasn't happened yet.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

Of course there will be a lot of 'good energy' at the show. I suspect there will be a few guys lurking around with a bag full of 'good energy'.
I just planning on turning off the reserved switch in my mind and body to potentially go APE SHIT! Excitement is in order for this rynostar.

Since you have experience with the section--how was the sound? Okay? Or did it leave something to be desired?

sound was never an issue from K2...it was perfect. though i don't know if it will differ because of the brother's dance beats.

video from K2
(i'd skip to 2:20 since it has the Idioteque beat) but if it sounds this good on my shit camera...i think it has to be even better live.

@Biff and Pooter, 2 Questions
1. Would you posibly consider 1 more for the carpool from San Fran to LA?
2. If yes to above question, would one of you have a floor I can crash on for 2 nights?

I am looking at flights now and it is possible for me to fly down to SFO for Friday Aug 27, and then fly out of LAX to YVR on Monday, Aug 30. All for $270 CAD (REALLY CHEAP). Why? Matt Cox is saying here (link) that he is going to be working around those times in Oakland, LA, Seattle, and Vacouver. Tom and Ed have said they will for sure be in LA and there is a possibility they will be at the same locations as Matt on the other days. I may plan to see 'Matt' all 4 (maybe only 3, depending on seattle) times he works.

What does this mean for you.
- Extra Driver (provided you don't have a standard)
- Extra gas money
- I should only have one bag (not large, maybe medium)
- Someone who can stand and contribute to any chemical brothers discussions for hours on end
If you could let me know so I could book flights that would be awesome.

I noticed you hail from Edmonton and I'm not sure if you've heard that there is a possible show in Vancouver and other cities. I've read this from other forums...just passing it along. But hey, Hollywood Bowl is always a good venue...hope things work out. Help this guy out someone...

This.

At this point, if I travel to the west coast, I want to do the full west coast swing. So if your game Ryno, I'm game too (that is, if you don't mind some company.)

A trip like this would finally give me good reason to get my passport.

A new beta version of the Bowl seating is up on TM. Now you can see where everyone is seating and all of the available tickets and sections that are sold out.

Props on you Ryno for the triple ( or quadruple ) threat!

I was actually looking to catch a ride down with somebody because I will most likely need to be back in SF the day after the show, which means catching a morning flight.
