I have to mention this, but Sir Paul at Glastonbury was something else. He made us wait 30 mins before he showed his face, but I don't care, he has the right to do that.
It was an emotional event, with tributes to his past band members, and classic beatle tracks.
It ended beautifully with Hey Jude, and the crowds were singing it for ages after Sir Paul left the stage, encouraging him to come back on, and he did!
He did quite a few more songs, it was like a dream. He talked to us, made us feel great, made us feel he came for each and everyone of us.
I've seen a beatle live!

I saw Paul McCartney in... I think it was 1992 or 93. A sort of last minute thing but the stress of getting tickets and know/not knowing was well worth it. I took 2 of my cousins who are huge Beatles fans.
I saw him play at the old Angels Stadium (Angels, as in baseball - my hometeam) It was before the place was gutted and retrofitted after earthquake damage and good ol age over the years. We had terrible, horrifying seats, way up in the top balocny, dead center. Paul did a few solo hits but mostly did Beatles tunes - and everyone was on their feet jumping up and down and the entire time and it felt like the balcony was going to collapse. I don't think anyone in the whole place sat down for over 2 hours including my one cousin who was 11 at the time.
Anyway, it was a great show, lots of positive vibes the whole time and Paul is a true entertainer. He really involved the audience, talking to us, telling stories inbetween songs - he made it seem like an intimate affair even though it was a sold out, packed house of several thousand people. And like at Glasto he ended with Hey Jude which went on for close to 20 minutes and Linda McCartney was onstage as well... happy times. Even from my nosebleed seats you could feel how much love he had for her, and her for him. Actually, there was a great unity on stage with everyone involved, like they were a big travelling, happy family. I felt very blessed for getting to see a Beatle in his element.

still don't forget the beatles said NO and "the brothers gonna work it out" became a bastardised ending. still a good mix but nothing like the original radio show I had taped from radio1
I know you can get the anti-nazi mix but you try finding it, I've been searching ebay for 2 years.
cheers

Hello wrekked trian, welcome to our corner of the universe - nice to have you along for the ride. :)
The Beatles' music has always been heavily guarded. I've read about that issue with Setting Sun's beats sounding so much like the beats on the Beatles' Tomorrow Never Knows, that a musicologist had to be called in to sort things out. I have the Live at BBC a friend made for me and Tomorrow Never Knows is a great closer. I myself don't have the anti-nazi mix, out of my league pricewise - but there's a few people here who do. I think a couple of them got it off ebay. Lucky, lucky people!

I have the anti-nazi mix and I have to say that the Tommorrow Never Knows ending is fantastic. It's a really good DJ mix from their DYOH style of music. The interview cd is also alot of fun. Alot of other samples had to be taken out of "Brother's going to work it out", eg "Party people" sample.
You're not looking that hard then cause I've seen many copies go up on ebay in the past 2 years. In that time I've bought mine.
Tip for buying rare items off ebay: You can save a search for something and ebay will email you a link to the auction when a listing including that keyword is put up. EI I have one search saved right now for Confront your demons (because that's the only rarity I dont have). When a copy is put up on ebay, I'll know ASAP and I wont have to check ebay every week.
Copies for the anti-nazi mix aren't too incredibly crazy. I've seen copies for anywhere between $40-100. That is really expensive for one cd. but it pales in comparison to what diamond press 12" would cost (100+ USD)

Yep, I've seen copies of the anti nazi mix on e-bay as well and I didn't have to look to hard!
...now if I can just convince my husband that spending upwards of $100 for one itty bitty cd is essential to my physical and mental well-being...
