I was listening to Nude Night today and i don't think people realize how clever and cool the track is. Give this track more more listen and this time turn it up ..Oh it's suppppppper cool. I think this track is very underrated..maybe because it's new and fresh, slowly everyone will be talking about it.

What I like about Nude Night is the buildup. Starts out small and gets bigger and better with interspersed drop-offs (I don't know how else to describe it) and as a whole gets more textured as the song progresses. It's definitely one of those songs where you don't know what to make of it upon first listen but it's all good for keeping us on our toes.

As far as this over/underrated stuff it's a tuffy... I would agree with everyone about Setting Sun being a bit overrated but the thing is, I like that song even though it was the Chemical breakthrough/crossover hit that got people's attention (in the US at least.) It definitely fits in with the concept of Dig Your Own Hole and the record. Despite people's gripes about Noel Gallagher, the record wouldn't be quite right without it.

Underrated, now that's even more of a tuffy, it seems like there's enough love for the Chems to go around in these parts. I suppose I'll have to go with Let Me In Mate. ;) ;)

Overrated: Block Rockin' Beats, Setting Sun

Underrated: Got Glint?, Dream On, Lost In The K-Hole

And Nude Night is underrated? I've only heard it in "Confront.." and love it.

ok, guys, nobody shoot me for this please..

I honetly thought that, by a lot of you guys, the song that's most overrated is... The Private Psychedelic Reel..

but.. I'm giving it a listen and it's pretty good if you really get into it. I really like the Sunshine Underground, too, and I know they were kind of compared, but I guess my background on the Chemical Brothers is different from some people's. I listened to Surrender a lot before I basically heard any more of their stuff, and so Surrender was what really got me into chems. I feel like I haven't actually listened to DYOH, and hence TPPR, very much. A few songs from that album that have grown on me the most are, I guess, Elektrobank, Where Do I Begin, and most of all, It Doesn't Matter. I think I really liked that last one when I was in 'I hate my job' mode listening to that at work... After Surrender, I got Come With Us, and it was only this summer that I first heard DYOH, at least as an album (I knew Block Rockin' Beats..)..

and underrated: maybe Scale ;)

Surrender was my first Chems, too. I didn't like TPPR when I first heard it. But now its so.. absorbing, so genius.

Hell yes. I have always known it was their most popular song over here with all my friends, and I think its one of their worst tracks.

wayno52, not to worry about not loving The Private Psychadelic Reel as much as the rest of us. We'll stalk and flame you in another thread later!! :P Kidding kidding - it's cool that Surrender brought you up to where you're at now, you gotta start somewhere, right? My fate with Chemical music has been small hits and near misses since 1996 before they finally stuck in 1999, right before Surrender came out. I still feel like a new fan sometimes!

And Chemical Beats, overrated? Hrmmmm. It's a Chemical Classic!
