I had a broken ms2000 I bought for $50 and just fixed the other day. I kinda love/hate that synth, there's something annoying about it that makes it loveable too. I think what I've learned after the years is there are somethings it does great (metalic sounds and bassless stuff), but don't you dare try to use it for anything else! I always thought the echo on Hoops live was an ms2000, has that great ping pong delay. BTW is that video on the FTP? I do not believe I have it!

Sneaker uploaded it for me. I don't share videos on the FTP (too big, it would completely overload my connection) but I can make it available to you if you want to see.
Try connecting, you will see it

ooooh nice ! I guess that's the special synth they were talking about on the blog.
Or maybe it's just a picture from the studio ?

Whoa!
That looks so bad ass. Will they be switching around those wires during the show? If so, it must be ever so complicated. (Kind of reminds me of SMD).

The great things about modulars and I belive smd do this is that you can have several patches on the same board, assuming it's large enough.

They definitely do that. And they just have a "small" Doepfer A100. The Serge Modular looks big enough to have several patches ! But I doubt they change the wires during the live. On an interview, SMD explained that it could make big "POP"s on the PA if you do so. And it would be quite difficult to change a patch like that, during the show. Maybe a technician could change the patch during an interlude (I think they already do on some of the old synths they have)

Yeah totally, fond memories of seeing Tom using one at the Birmingham gig Dec 2007, I was blown away, love Das Spiegal!

Wonder if they have a special holder for it on stage?
My life is a boat, being blown by you. With nothing ahead, just the deepest blue... To me you're like a setting sun. You rise then you're gone.

I built a small doepfer format synth, real fun. Tuning is a bitch if you're OCD about it
