Stellar track. You can feel the ice starting to form on his heart as he mumbles his way through a murky, vaguely industrial-sounding rhythm before delivering the shivering, earnest chorus that bites coldly to the bone like a wicked winter wind.
One of Rezzo's best ever tracks.

I think I realized tonight just how excellent 100th Window is as an album. It is lightyears away from their first three albums which are undisputed classics, but this is a crucially overlooked and underrated gem of a disc. Absolutely fantastic album. Just not what we'd expect from the Bristol boys.

"On my planet, bass was my day and kick was my night. Rhythmatic interludes of percussion was my four seasons. ... On my planet house is a religion and the DJ is a god. ... This is my world. This is my planet. And my planet rocks."
Classic. Very good remake, if you're into that sort of thing.

perfect description
must add, "Future Proof" is one of the coolest songs ive heard live. Although, I could barely make out a word 3-D was singing through the song. The live instrumenal part, was spine-tingling haunting.

Nine Inch Nails - Metal
Gary Numan cover. Marshy might appreciate this, I expect.

Their second album took the necesary, but unfortunate, route of trying to be a big rock album. It has its moments but is pretty much forgettable.
Their debut, on the other hand, is a flawed but brash attempt by a bunch of malcontents who just want to rock out and dance like monkeys and don't necessarily know which to do more. An aggressive album in how they just balls-to-the-wall it, I still like parts of the disc years on. Some tracks hold up still. This one does. Part of the "original" 21st century punkfunk, dancepunk scene.
Decent live act when I saw them, too. Ah well, lost to the sands of time.

I love Hot Chip straight up, and that remix is tops. Just picked up the "new" (well, new here) Mixmag with Erol's covermount. Haven't listened to it yet but it ends with the BFS mix. Class.
-----------
Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug (Meat Beat Manifesto mix)
