At 7am on 11 March 2002 BBC Radio 6 Music was born. Since then we reckon we've played over one million songs! As our 10th anniversary year drew to a close, we compiled our Top 100 Greatest Hits and now we're asking YOU to choose the greatest song released in 6 Music's lifetime.
The 100 tracks in our shortlist were selected by 6 Music staff and presenters Steve Lamacq, Cerys Matthews, Don Letts, Lauren Laverne, Tom Ravenscroft, Liz Kershaw, Shaun Keaveny, Tom Robinson, Nemone, Chris Hawkins, Marc Riley, Mark Radcliffe, Gideon Coe and Stuart Maconie (read more about the selection process on the BBC Music blog).
Every song was released between March 2002 and the end of 2012. Now it's over to you to vote for the one you believe to be the pinnacle of musical achievement in this period. To help you decide, we've made a YouTube video playlist of all 100 songs. Or you can listen to the tracks in our Spotify or Deezer playlists.
Voting opens at 5pm on Monday 7 January and you have until until 7pm on Friday 25 January to vote. Let battle commence!
Tune in to 6 Music on Friday 1st February to find out the results of the vote as we countdown the Top 100.
I did vote for Beastie Boys, Blur, Chemical Brothers, Goldfrapp, Sigur Ros & Underworld
