What's your favourite singlefrom 6 Music's lifetime?

At 7am on 11 March 2002 BBC Radio 6 Music was born. Since then we reckon we've played over one million songs! As our 10th anniversary year drew to a close, we compiled our Top 100 Greatest Hits and now we're asking YOU to choose the greatest song released in 6 Music's lifetime.

The 100 tracks in our shortlist were selected by 6 Music staff and presenters Steve Lamacq, Cerys Matthews, Don Letts, Lauren Laverne, Tom Ravenscroft, Liz Kershaw, Shaun Keaveny, Tom Robinson, Nemone, Chris Hawkins, Marc Riley, Mark Radcliffe, Gideon Coe and Stuart Maconie (read more about the selection process on the BBC Music blog).

Every song was released between March 2002 and the end of 2012. Now it's over to you to vote for the one you believe to be the pinnacle of musical achievement in this period. To help you decide, we've made a YouTube video playlist of all 100 songs. Or you can listen to the tracks in our Spotify or Deezer playlists.

Voting opens at 5pm on Monday 7 January and you have until until 7pm on Friday 25 January to vote. Let battle commence!

Tune in to 6 Music on Friday 1st February to find out the results of the vote as we countdown the Top 100.

I love galvanize but would've pictured that one to be more of a radio 1 classic hit than a radio 6 one. Surely other ones? (Voted)
Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

Galvanise isn't my fave Chems track. I was looking at this list before the thread was started on this forum. My shortlist of "nominations" is:

Animal Collective: My Girls
Doves: There Goes the Fear
Franz Ferdinand: Take Me out
Gossip: Standing In the way Of Control
LCD Soundsystem: All My Friends
The National: Bloodbuzz Ohio
Queens of The Stoneage: No One knows
White Stripes: Seven Nation Army
Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Maps.

I don't know how to narrow that down to one though!

It is kind of disappointing Galvanize didn't place too highly on that list.

At first I was wondering why Star Guitar didn't make the cut and then I realized it was released before Radio 6 was born. Time is weird and confuses me sometimes.

I think Galvanize is one of the Chems' most commercially successful tunes with its instantly recognizable and catchy hook, so it's placement amongst the top 100 is not surprising (to me anyway). But that said, do any of you think maybe a different Chemical Brothers song would have been a better fit for this particular round-up?
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

No, I think Galvanize is the most obvious choice too. Remember it was the most played track of 2005 on Radio 1

Maybe Setting Sun or Block Rockin Beats would have performed better though. Who knows ?
