Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies To Paralyze

would you say its better then songs for the deaf?

I think Songs fro the deaf can't be topped , it's BRILLIANT. Especially the drums in the break in " A song for the dead " the part from 3:00 till 3:37...omg , that drums is SO funky! And offcourse Go with the Flow , well , the whole album. Havent listen to the new one a lot but Little Sister is GREAT!

I agree with BLoc Party's Silent Alarm , Kasbian , Lemon Jelly altough my favorite album has to be "Lemonjelly.ky".

There is DEFINATLY a LOT of albums here i still have to buy , but i alreadu have a list on my memon board with " To Buy " and i'm already up to 50 or so....Hmz :S

My reccomandations ( I lost a lot of my music so justn from the head )

Tresspasers William - Different Stars. I haven't heard the whole album yet but the songs i know from it are unbelievable , beautifull relaxing music. The singer of this band is Anne Lynne btw , who we all know from Hold Tight London ( Thnx Jolsyn for sending me this tracks!)

Hmz i dont know the name of this cd but it's drum and bass mixed by Andy C and it starts with " Bullit Time - Ceiec. Maybe young fan can help me out on the title....great powerfull album , exactly how i would like it at a party. The intro is great!

Depeche Mode- Exciter. The first song " dream on" is so great. Special album to me , always reminds me of Japan i listened to it here a lot.

Dilinja - My Sound. great D'n B album

ALL THE FABRIC LIVES but the one on my iPod right nr 18 makes me wanna party man.

Genaside - Ad Finite. Good break-beat, Jungle , D'n B album , only downer is that they used the Block Rocking beats beat in one of there songs and it's so bad comparing to what the chems did with it. Still worth checking out , specialy "Casualtis of War"

Hux Flux , Cryptic Crunch and ehm i think it's called Division Zero. great Goa trance albums

Kosheen

Pendulum - Creature feature. D'nB kind off style. it's good

Evrything from Placebo!

Portishead - Dummy

Skunk Anansie , EVERYTHING! But espacially POST ORGASMIC CHILL....The Intro OMFG so GREAT! The intro is " Charlie Big Potato " GREAT SONG!

Spaceships of the imagination by Raja Jam or ehm , whatever his name is :p Nice and Relaxing , beautifull.

St-Germain , Tourist

Syndicate - The End. GREAT fast and hard and raw drum and bass HMM!

Syntax - Mecanno Mind

The Flaming Lips - LateNightTales

Ullrisch Schnaus - A strangely Isolated Place. This.Album.Is.So.Beautiful. And it really really reminds me of The Chems weekend in London. Awww :-//

Urban Dance Squad = Antartica ( LOVE !!!! The song " Happy go Fucked Up"

Violet Vision - Unfold. This is great aswell man.

Allright i know it's not all new albums but they are def worth checking out!

Lemon Jelly altough my favorite album has to be "Lemonjelly.ky".

Lemon Jelly Fun Fact #1:

Lemonjelly.ky is not a real album. It's a collection of singles. Lost Horizons is their real first album.

It's older, but one of my favorite all time records: Spiritualized - Lazerguided Melodies.

I can't recommend it enough... the song Sway is just gorgeous "life sure is weird but what else am I to know" is one of the best lines from a song ever!

I have to recommend a couple of Australian guys that go by the name of pnau. Both their albums "Sambanova" and "Again" are fantastic housey/tech-disco classics.

Um... new music..... alrighty!

I have to second those views on Bloc Party and the Erol Alkan album, friggin awesome man!

But I must also recommend the following:

- Chew the Fat Presents: Friendly - the best party breaks mix I've heard in ages!

- Vitalic - OK Cowboy

- Fabric Live 19 - The Freestylers

- Kaiser Chiefs - Employment - cheesey but oh so much fun!

- Minuit - 88 - not so new but I doubt that many outside of New Zealand will have heard of them. Very cool Portishead-ish chill out choons.

That's about it for new albums.... I don't really buy that many albums these days - most of my pingas are spent on singles and shit. Um, stuff.

As far as non-new albums go.... well, ha ha, that would be a whole new thread methinks! 8O

Can some of you please post genre descriptions of the albums youre recommending? I know this may sound a bit stupid, but ive only known about electronic music for a little over a year, and therefore have no idea who just about any of the people youre recommending are.

The newest album I picked up (besides Push the Button) was "Fingerlickin' Thing Vol. 3". Amazing album, I love it to bits. Style-wise, it's electro-breaks I guess, but it's packed with the funkiest basslines I've ever heard! If you like funky basslines you've gotta check it out!

some ace recommendations here.

def got to agree with Thievery Corporation, The Cosmic Game, I love all that downtempo dubby beats bizness, and this is a really good album for that - they kind of combine a bit of psychedelic rock type stuff with it as well, tooally cool, im feeling it :)

fabric mix - michael meyer - wicked compost-esque grimy electronic house

ralph myerz & the jack herren band - kind of like a less electronic more live royksopp - lovely songs and melodies, woicked basslines and funky beats

the earlies - totally ace headed for big things electronic/folk/psyche crossover band - their album is totally uplifting, love it. if your into spiritualized def check it out.

death in vegas - the contino sessions is wicked, but def get their back to mine album, its wicked. in fact pretty much all the back to mine/late night tales comps are superb.

not new but sabres of paradise 'haunted dancefloor' still gets me going - the ballad of nicky mcguire sends shivers down my spine

and two lone swordsmen 'form a double chapel gone' also rocks (yes, i am slighlty fixated with andy weatherall) X-D

future sound of londodn - accelerator - classic.

becks new album guero is really cool

broken social scene for some post-rock fuzziness

ooo, if u can find them, 2 dj harvey mixes - dk harvey in san diego - ultimate baleric lushness :)

nouvelle vague - novelle vague - thei is WICKED - covers of old tunes done inm a bossa nova lounge style, but not cheesy in the slightest, sounds liek they are covered by a more uptempo zero 7. fookin wicked, their version of love will tear us apart is ace

the unabombers - electric chair & saturday night/sunday morning are both wicked house mixes - soulful but with no cheese

oh, and tom middleton - the trip, is a wicked double cd set, the first cd never fails to get a party going

and of cousre my beaty mix here www.musicv2.com/artist/mippio ;) - mippios chilled loungeathon, its got beats, dub, thievery corporation and a psych soul cover of california dreaming X-D check it out!! :)

Getting scared how narrow my music base is getting! I'm really into the Chems, more so Prodigy, but can't find anything to stimulate the in-betweens! Anyone recommend any leftfield artists, that i'm just too ignorant to know of?! By the way, i've got the usual stuff: Orbital, Leftfield etc etc.

AND can I suggest that if you like Orbital, but don't know what to get next, borrow/buy 'Work'. Basically, it's 'The Best Of Orbital' (trying not to sound like Alan Partridge here). It's a whistle-stop tour of their stuff, going right back to the phenomenol 'Chime'.

And why won't the boys ever visit Hull?

because my mate once bought a burger there, and these guys came up to him demanding they give them his burger. My mate just chucked it down his throat (not even considering the implications of heartburn and indegestion pains) so they could not steal his food.

That's the sort of people that live out there and that's why the Chems wont visit; they like their burgers.

I agree with Nouvelle Vague! Their version of " I just can't get enough ' is great and also the " To drunk , to drunk , to drunk to fuck! "
