WOWZERS!!! The Standard is really pricey! I hope you didnt book the room yet pooter...

I just did some research with hotels and it looks like we can get a room at the Hilton for $100 less then a room at The Standard. We can still party with Whirly and Stash since both hotels are very close (only like 2 or 3 blocks apart). Or did you guys really have your hopes set on The Standard?

Nothing has yet been booked, so we can definitely do the Hilton reservation.

I like cheap. :)

seconded! I'm not deadbeat poor, but definitely so long as there's a spot to sleep I'll be happy (is that a 2 door or 4 door honda, kidding)

It's only like $225 for 2 beds at the Standard, and you get free admission to the rooftop bar/pool

^ Yeah, but we're going all out as much as possible for this one show, and these guys are spending chunks of change on other shows and transportation - so I can see why they'd want to go easy on the lodging.

The rooftop bar and pool at the Standard is something to consider, though. Especially if there is going to be an after party. I heard from some neighbors and I think igloo mentioned it - The Standard is home to the Insomniac afterparties for many events and it's something like $40 a head to get access to the bar and pool area. But it's free if you're staying at The Standard.

if I'm getting a few drinks I probably wouldn't mind crashing the sofa/floor in a 2-bed

Good question, we'll need to fish around for a reliable answer.

Thing is, booze stops flowing at 2am since that's the law - but stash is pretty sure 6am is the legal time to serve liquor again.

I must be getting old because I am getting tired just thinking about any kind of after party right now.

6AM? on a Sunday are you sure? I think its like 11AM on a Sunday here in Illinois. Maybe California is just cooler.

I mean will that rooftop bar at the Standard even be open by the time we get back from the festival? Especially, since last call is at 2AM.

I think the bar/pool hours would depend on whether there was for sure a party being held. I'll have stash make a call to the hotel tomorrow at some point to see if they can at least let us know the hours or if there will be an after party event.

As for 6am? I'm almost positive that's when booze is allowed to sell in California. Then again, the only time these days I'm usually up at 6am is during the work week or the odd weekend when I actually surprise myself by staying up to watch a sunrise.

Well, if the afterparty thing doesnt work out, we could always do our OWN afterparty. That is, if were still breathing from the Chemical Blast that will hit LA earlier that night.

Hey guys...sorry I've been mia...Anyway, yeah, the Standard held an afterparty for the Giant events (which is bringing Nocturnal w/ Imsomniac)....And regarding the question about the afterparty, if I remember correctly, the afterparty lasted until 9...or something like that...But I have no idea if they're gonna have an afterparty there this time...

And just a reminder for everyone to buy their tix asap...I just checked the website, and they went up $5...now it's $50...and probably will go up as time aproaches...

And there's always the Traffic parties on the rooftop of the Standard on Sundays...It's more like a kick-back house music lazy Sundays by the pool type of deal haha...It's from noon to 7pm...

you could find the Traffic parties videos here:

There WILL be an afterparty in our room. That's where the vaporizer's gonna be.

I just bought my airline ticket out to San Francisco! Just need to confirm with my cousin and see if he wants to come with me to the show before I buy tickets.

Next Step Nocturnal Wonderland...
