um he's talking about the great depression that took place in the US in the 1930's. The Reformation is what happened before the depression during the 1920's where lots of interest groups wanted to change, aka reform policies. aka prohibition and stuff.
"Only the disdainful group of folly instigators will seek true re-formation when enlightened. The rest shall vaugly follow as the pawl turns.

This is talkinga bout intellectual defferance.
They're all references to events in us history that are being tied into chemical brothers album titles.
