He was on the first album, Exit Planet Dust, but he was kicked out of the group due to excessive cocaine use. That's when Ed met Tom and Tom's been in the group ever since.
In fact, at 3:15 into Song to the Siren (original version), there's a little warble or a chirp about a second or so long and that's due to Hardwicke using the test pressing vinyl to dice up his coke, which somehow fucked up the groove in the vinyl. Thought you should know.

I thought tom and ed wer like always together and thats how they met?
Someone was saying that they used to go to raves nd stuff together and then they formed a group called The Dust Brothers.. then changed to The Chemical Brothers? :?

*shrug* I have no idea who that person is. I'm going to assume that the person probably isn't real and that it was probably just a windup to begin with.
