I changed the backgroundcolor of my avatar to the forum-grey (was white before) with PS CS3. But when i save it as an animated gif the color is changed to a darker grey then what i have chosen. Why does PS this and how can i change it? Is it because when i save them it says it can only have 256 colors and this kind of grey is not included? And why is it limited to 256 colours while i see animated gifs with much more colors?

I still use CS3 for the majority of my work, so if I were to make a gif such as the one that you did, I usually make the bg transparent, but I SEE what you did there, so bravo to you!

I've seen gif's with tons of colors. (found in video gif's) You can use the Gimp for that.

I've barely been fondling a bit with CS5! Much more user friendly so far!

Do you know that CS6 is around the corner ?
