Yep, that guy I went to high school with is the Foo's drummer!

I haven't seen him in years, but what I know of him is that he really is quite a nice guy, I mean it in a genuine way not just because he's famous now. He was good humored, lots of nervious energy and couldn't sit still, and really knew how to butter up our English teacher (hey... come to think of it, he was there in class with me when we had that earthquake I told you about - hahaha!!) And he had a way with the girls. He was flirty, but not in a get-in-your-pants way and he called the girls "darlin' " but it wasn't weird and cheesy. Also very popular, I can't think of anyone that disliked him. And he was always writing music - lyrics, ideas for guitar and bass and keys - in a journal which he carried everywhere with him.

I used to have a massive crush on his friend who played bass in one of the bands they were in together. X-D I can't believe I just admitted that, I think only 1 other person in the world knew my secret!

Jesus Christ, man! That's just awful to hear. Just awful. It makes me think these misdiagnoses are more common than most people realize.

I was misdiagnosed when I had appendicitis 11 years ago, even after spending a week in the hospital undergoing diagnostic tests. 2 weeks later the appendix ruptured. After giving birth to my son and dealing with kidney stones I can safely say that the pain associated with appendicitis is the most terrifying and excruciating pain I've ever felt and would wish that kind of pain on no one. I do like the scar though, I think it's kinda sexy. ;)

I'm glad you're doing better now and hope your body makes a quick recovery. You poor thing, you could've died!!!

So Liquid, is your appetite back with a vengence or what!?! Food, glorious food - and drink too!!! The thing I couldn't stand the most was not being able to drink any water.

Something amusing happened while at work today. Yay for amusement!!

I was on my lunch break and it's been gorgeous and warm outside lately, so I thought I'd eat al fresco. There's really no place to sit down outside except in front of the store - and I really don't like spending my lunch hours out front anymore because people always come up and talk to me, and sometimes I just want a little peace and quiet.

So around the side of the building is a jasmine and vine covered walkway that doesn't offer any place to sit, but that's OK because I have no problem sitting on the ground. The jasmine is almost done blooming and the smell still lingers, and there's enough sunlight peeking through the vines so it's pleasant - not too sunny and not too shady. Now, my store is sandwiched inbetween a shopping mall and doctors offices and a woman's hospital. Inbetween all this is a vast parking lot, dotted with trees and littered with cars. And there's always people walking to and fro going either to the mall, Tower, women's hospital, or doctors offices.

So I eat my lunch and I'm sitting there on the phone to my mother-in-law just killing time and enjoying being outside. I look up and notice a black Honda civic with the windows rolled down not too far away. Looking out at me, I see a young man in a white t-shirt. He's sitting in the passenger seat, and he crouches over in his seat as if he's picking something up off the floor of his car.

I didn't think anything of it. I contined to yap and bit to my mother-in-law, and I notice the young man is now straddling the passenger seat, looking back at me every so often. I thought, "Ooooo.K. Why's he looking at me..." Then I saw his hips grind in a bobbing motion and I thought, "No, he can't be..." But he was. His girlfriend then appeared from underneath him, and in a clumsy attempt, got into cowgirl position, and started going to town. Pregnant women walking by, little old ladies hobbling past with their walkers, fathers, daughters, mothers, babies - all striding to and fro without so much as a glance at these 2 exhibitionists blatantly rockin the parked Honda civic in the throes of young, passionate love. With the windows rolled down. I think I mentioned that.

So I laugh on the phone, and by now I can't stop staring, and these 2 lovebirds knew I was looking right at them laughing. I mean, come on. I'm all for a little funching, but there's this thing called being discreet. It's hot outside, you're in a black car parked on black ashpalt with the sun beating down, It *can't be comfortable* no matter how horny you are. And there's acres of parking lot to choose from that's more private - hell, I can think of a few places in that parking lot that allow for some serious buck wild activity. And at least park under a tree for chrissake - the shade will offer a little obscurity. Fucking in public is still a crime, you know. But it was funny, and I was on the phone with my mother-in-law who found the whole thing almost as amusing as I did.

I had to tell somebody. I go back into the store and grab a coworker, and we head out to the parking lot and stand there pointing and laughing for another 5 minutes. Then go back into the store and tell people to have a gander round the side of the building on their way out.

Good times!

For people that don't know what the hell Splash Mountain even is: It's a water ride at Disneyland that takes you through the story of Briar Rabbit and Song of the South. Basically, 5 people are seated one behind the other in a large log, and you drift on these winding watery canals through various Disney imagineered landscapes. During the ride there's a few dips (yes, you do get wet when you hit the bottom) and at the very end of the ride is the mother lode of all hydro-plunges. And you know it's coming, too. The log is slowly taken up a large hill, creepy music is being played, you can hear some kids in logs behind you crying, and you can hear the faint echo of people screaming bloody murder off in the distance. Once you reach the top, you get a little hang time before you go plummeting down the waterfall.

About halfway down, once eveyone's got their scream on, a flash goes off in an instant. At the end of the line when the ride's over, there's a room with large monitors, each with a different picture from different logs. It's pretty funny, because some people in the pics have the most hilarious screaming faces on them. I for instance, always look like the tasmanian devil in those pictures because the angle at which the picture is taken always *always* manages to distort my face. But anyway. Some people (mainly young busty exhibitionists) lift up their shirts when they're on their way down the mountain, just in time for the flash to go off. Hence the dubbed name Flash Mountain. X-D

It's an offense that'll get you booted from the park, but it's still funny. There's other rides in the park too that take your picture when you're screaming (like the Tower of Terror, that produces some pretty funny pictures.) It would be great to buy one of those pictures but it's something like $12 just for one copy.
