M.I.A.: Pull Up The People (album: Arular) - I seriously cannot describe this accurately enough. I'd say it's a really eccelctic mix of ethnic, hip-hopish tribal and dare I say electro flavors. Very danceable with heavy, thumping booming beats and pulsing, simple basslines. The vocalist has a sexiness about her voice which is very appealing with the type of music going on. Lots of energy! Really cool stuff worth checking out if you want to try something new. Anyone else heard if M.I.A.?

Yeah this has got quite alot of air time on the radio station JJJ over here. It is a refreshing track, kind of Shake Break Bounce flavour but faster.

n.p: Radiohead - Paranoid Android.

Amen.

I think you're right about the Shake Break Bounce flavor, but a little less experimental in terms of what noisy gadgetry the Brothers conjured up in the song but I totally hear what you're saying - nice observation! For some reason while listeing to M.I.A. I was reminded a little of Hot Acid Rhythm... might have to dig that track out and give it a spin to see why my brain is making that connection - it's been a while since I've listened to it. Anyway. I'd say the whole M.I.A. record has a nice bounce to it! I'll have to thank 'stash's coworker for burning it for me. Glad to hear they are getting some airtime on the radio where you are. Shameful for me to say but I just don't listen to the radio all that much here - they could be playing M.I.A. for all I know!

Came across M.I.A.: Sunshowers while flipping channels. MuchMusic actually played the video. Not bad, but nothing that got me too excited. Unlike the video that ended the show, Aphex Twin: Windowlicker. Twisted. Sick and twisted.

DAZED AND CONFUSED

-- Led Zeppelin
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.
