And in Tenacious D and the pick of destiny ! I have to say, I didn't know who he was before I saw that movie.

In other news, I just found out that Bentley Rhythm Ace reformed last year and are touring ! I'm hoping for a date in Paris and maybe an album ? Although I'm kind of scared : very few big beat bands have survived the "after Big Beat". Even Fatboy Slim does crap now...

Wow, forgot he was in that.

Good news on the BRA side but are you serious about Fatboy Slim?
Do you mean that in respect of his albums or his live show?

I see where you're coming from in relation to his albums but his live is still one of the best shows I've been privilaged enough to attend.
I saw him in Dublin last August where it started raining just after the sun went down and you could see the raindrops falling through the lasers and he played an absolutely awesome version of Sunset (Bird of Prey).
Following that I saw him at Sziget in Budapest and it was the best Thursday night of my life. Such a good buzz about the place that, even though I was particularly sick after the previous night, he got me off my feet and dancing, drinking and eating again!

And in the end, does it not seem that most, if not all, artists have to go through this phase where they are pushing themselves to produce what will be accepted and celebrated against constant criticism and people who say they are 'past it'?
I would think that the Fatboy will bring something new to the table in the near future that will launch him back up there - a comeback of sorts.

I don't care that much about his lives because he's never did a single gig in France anyway...

I just saw Romain Gavras on TV, he talked about his video for M.I.A. - Born Free. I know this video shocked a lot of people here (including Ed) and it was interesting to hear what the director had to say. He said that he didn't comunicate about it because the point of the video is to confront people with something unusual, to make them think one thing and his contrary, basically to make people talk and wonder. That's what I like about this video (and the Justice one he did a few years ago).

Double post ! God kills a kitten !

Went to see Holy Fuck last night in Glasgow. Very impressive live, great electronic sound without the electronics. Never seen anyone use an instrument that comprises 35mm film before - no idea how it works, perhaps one of the tech geniuses on here could elaborate?

Going through a bit (or a lot) of pain in a possibly-permanent break between myself and my reasonably stated ex-girlfriend.

I'm looking forward to law school.

I'm stoked for the Chems.

I'm loving Starcraft 2.

My best to all you forum members out there, especially the ones who might need a little help from their friends.

Ugh... please forgive me for my late condolence (and probably not the best idea to bring it up again), but I just connected the dots and read that Ryne's Dad passed. I'm so sorry man...

My Dad isn't in best health right now either. Not that he is sick or anything, but he (and the rest of my family) are deeply stressed because of my dying 95 year old Grandfather. We've taken him (my Dad) to the hospital twice within the last month, which is extremely odd, considering his health record. His blood pressure was really high the last visit, and complained of chest pains which gave us a really big scare.

Anyways, I hope the best for your family, Ryno. Stay strong, and I'll try to do the same.

Real talk here.
I wish you all so much peace and solace in these trying times! We Chem fans have to stick together. I know that everybody's having a good time right now cause of the roundhouse gigs, but somewhere in another place, someone's hurting.

Once again, my compassion and warmth to Ryno and his family and to all others.

Yeah, we are a dysfunctional family, and what families do is stick together even if we aren't constantly engaging or are hurting too much to say much of anything at all. Just knowing there's a place to come to and get things off your chest can really take a load off. There's so much of people's lives in this thread alone. Passing moments in our lives in all these pages, general bullshit chat - sometimes heavy, sometimes light. It's weird to think about actually.

Bosco, dude... From what you've shared about your family, they seem like wonderful people. Take care of each other and hang in there.

I'm so glad I popped into this thread, very well said (above).

Bosco, I'm sorry to hear about this situation but just know that this is a place you can come and always know that our virtual arms are always here for a hug or a shoulder... and all I can say is I know what you must be going through, I've managed somehow to lose 6 very close people in the last 10 years, my Grandfather included.

There is something magical about a Grandfather and Grandparents in general, "Anything for an easy life" was his answer to anything I asked him for, bless him.

I hope he does not suffer to much Bosco, it's never easy no matter what age a person lives to, but my, 95 is a fantastic age, the memories and visions that he must have, I have nothing but admiration for elderly people and have the up most respect for them.

@Madpooter, I am sorry to hear what you are going through, when you break up with someone it's never easy, it can feel just like a bereavement. I hope you work through this, and I'll echo Whirly's comment's, "Lots to look forward to"! Keep the focus, keep busy, and Mrs Right will turn up one day when you won't expect it :-)

Keep well everyone
My life is a boat, being blown by you. With nothing ahead, just the deepest blue... To me you're like a setting sun. You rise then you're gone.

This weekend was my first time in London. I loved it. It's amazing to see how the old and the new coexist, every building looks great, every old building has been kept fresh, clean and neat, cohabiting with modern new buildings. It felt like being in a small town, with animation in the streets.
I loved the giant parks of London. I wish we had such parks in Paris.
I noted a few weird points though ! First, what's up with your traffic lights ? When you're a pedestrian, you have to wait 2mn and then the light is green for 5 seconds ! I saw the same on a traffic light for cars. It was green every 5 minutes (we checked with a watch) for like 15 seconds. The cars all ended up passing when the light was red. Second, I saw way too many teenager girls with uktra-mini skirts. It could be good, if they were not all less than 15 and if at least half of them were ok :D The tickets for the Underground is a complete rip off ! £4 for a ticket ? Seriously ?
And then there's the whole driving on the left stuff. I almost got killed a few times this weekend because of that.

Thanks for the warm thoughts, guys and gals.

Great to read you had a good time London Ben. I hope to get there some day! Every time I think about how the Brits drive on the left, I think of the scene in National Lampoon European Vacation with Eric Idle.

It's the same over here! I jaywalk because waiting for the signal to cross the street is a lifetime, and i'm always in a hurry.

Driving on the right should be universally embraced (That means you Japan!)
