Dan Van Damn, just locked himself a spot on my festival.

You should see if he minds if you link to his monthly sets at the Coachella forum. Spread the word about our very own Boyelectric.

Yeah, it's a fine line to walk. You can either put out the obvious but amazing lineup and have everyone go 'meh, I've seen all those bands' or put out the obscure but amazing lineup and have everyone go 'meh, who the hell are these guys?'

Fine line, indeed.

lol, its too true.

Its gonna be very tough putting together 20 great, diverse, bands/groups each day. And if I happen to advance to the next round I gotta do set times 8O

I want my festival to be mostly electronic based (because thats what i listen to and am most fimiliar with). But I dont wanna have too much, where it turns people off.

That board can be VERY snotty about bands, and they generally tend to dislike electronic music. Or at least that's been my experience. But that will help you stand out. And your hip-hop knowledge will come in handy too.

I plan on listing a myspace, or some source of sampling of music for every artist on my lineup.

So spreading the word will be in the works! 8)

Oh yeah, here's another suggestion: The Human League.

I'm pretty sure they're back together and currently touring.

Also, Pet Shop Boys.

BTW, dead artists and or bands with a member that is dead or incapable of physically playing live are not aloud. (sorry DJ dance)

I need advice on who to reunite. We have to submit our reunion group next Saturday (first come first serve, duplicates will not be allowed). Ive narrowed it down to Leftfield or Orbital (thanks foxboy :). ) Which one would you guys rather see?

Love the Mayan ruins idea for location!

I really need more input for non electronic acts, i have a ton of them already.

I need to make the festival look as real as possible.

Oh yeah, Frankie goes to hollywood will be added. (chemd'up 8) )

No need to rush either, got a month to create this bad boy. 8)

whats the differerence from a dance headliner and a normal one?

i also URGE you to choose leftfield as the reunion band since they are my favorite band of all time hence the reason i listen to them every day.

A 'regular' headliner is an act that would close out the main stage on a given night. A 'dance' headliner is an act that would close out the dance stage (at Coachella, the Sahara Tent) on a given night.

Examples:

Regular headliners:

Coldplay, U2, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, etc.

Dance headliners:

Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Leftfield, Fatboy Slim, Orbital.

And of course there's acts like Tiesto who are big enough that they may get 'main stage' time instead of being in the dance tent. But Tiesto isn't good.

Ohhh yes. Krakw is a very beautiful city. Katowice isn't so nice, but I love this city :P I'm in Krakw at least twice in a year, because it's only 70 kms away form my city.

But it's an offtop so...

Damn! Darkstarexodus good idea with Coldplay. Forgot about them. Many people don't like this music, but for me they're great. And I have to agree with you - Tiesto sux.

Maxi Jazz shouldn't collaborate with him :/

I wasn't necessarily recommending Coldplay (although I don't really mind them), simply offering them as an example of the size/type of band who would be considered a headliner.

--------

As for Leftfield headlining the entire festival, it's not that I don't think they're good enough to do so, but I don't think they're a big enough name to do so. Especially not on this side of the ocean. Especially not these days.

Even Daft Punk played in the tent.

hahaha. well, I doubt the contest judges will see it that way.

I would love to see Leftfield reunite for real though. 'Open Up' is a belter of a tune. Loved when the Chems dropped their remix of it NYE 2005.

Ohh noo. He used to be a good singer but that's over. Now he releases only religion influenced and boring songs which are to repetitive all the time. It's always the same crying stuff. His first 2 albums were great when he was signed at Moses Pelham's lable and the first "Shne Mannheims" CD was ok but then it went downhill in my opinion.
