As the topics for Gorillaz, Prodigy and other artists, here's one for Amon Tobin.

He is, whith the Chemical Brothers, my favourite artist. His music is so impossible to describe and so amazing. He really is talented, and I hope that tomorrow will be a great night :D (I'm going to see him live tomorrow)

Looking forward to forge my own opinion about Amon, as I'll see him playing in two week... his albums are great though, especially Supermodified.

Without wishing to pigeonhole his music into a particular genre, how would you describe his music? 8)

Begin with Permutation, then take an ear to Supermodified, his best album.

People, I'm a happy man :D I've just seen him live yesterday night. It was MAR-VE-LOUS !!!!!!!

He slowly started his set with nearly the same intro as in the Solid Steel "Amon Tobin : Recorded Live" album (take an ear to that too !), but it was a more itchy version. Then "Theme from Battery" came. I don't remember and know all the tracks, but i remember his tracks : Searchers (excellent), Ruthless (Reprise) (great), El Cargo (god I LOOOVE this track), Rosies (fucking great, amazing, it sounded incredibly powerful !), Displaced (Same as for Rosies, it was so huge), and a slow track, played quicker than as usual, I think it was Mighty Micro People. All that was incredibly huge ! He also played a track that i like a lot (but i don't know its name) which is at the very beginning of the Novamix.

I did not wanted him to stop, but the final was really an incredible and indescribable mix of Rockn Roll guitar and drum'n' bass beats. I had heard it before, but i have to recover where. I wish I could make you hear that. And just when he dropped it in, he came on front of his decks and turned the two speakers he had to the public, just like if he was saying "hear that ! take that !" and that track really turned the crowd crazy !

I was on the first row, just in front of Tobin :D Each time the pace slowed down, the crowed was cheering him, and I was applauding and sreaming and showing thumbs up. He saw that and maked me a big smile :D I was so happy. It was a great show, i'll never forget it :)

It's bad quality, but when you have the speakers just next to you, it's so huge ! And Amon had a big smile on his face each time he did the breaks. It was a big slap each time there was those breaks. I wish I could see him DJ again...

Fresh new tracks, mixes and neat stuff available here :

http://www.amontobin.com/storeNew

Apparently, a new track will be released every month. This month, it's Delpher (Lately, Amon began all of his lives with it) and it fuckin rocks, almost destroyed my subwoofer !

There's also the amazing Horsefish (Live Mix Version) available for FREE ! And it is amazing aswell. There are a lot of (expensive) ringtones, new huge (expensive, but still really cool) posters (they only printed 50 of each, so hurry !) new t-shirts, and the Taxidermia EP, containing the Soundtrack to the movie Taxidermia, and remixes and extended versions of the tracks.

And here's something he produced :

I was browsing the Amon Tobin forum and guess who's name popped up...yes you Ben J. I was searching for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory related material and I saw a post saying that there is a collection of the music (which differs from the OST) around on the Internet but they wouldn't post the link. That was you Ben J!

Sort me out!

Ben, that deezer link you posted, is it this Indian Harmony track? I like that one. The beat that's commin' in halfway through is unexpected and yet great matching the whole thing well.

E(argasm) = m(usic) x c(hemicals)²

I know I've said it before to other members, and I may come across as a slut to many of you, but Ben_J is now my new favourite member. This has been the best thread in AGES. Thank you for uploading all of these, very much appreciated. Oh and the fact that you're French is ok with me :)
