This does seem like a positive week, doesn't it?

Either you guys are exuding positivity and it's flowing into my life, or things in general are pulling out the funk. The nice weather really seems to help, I think. Last month was on the up but I can't help but feel it was so freakin gloomy. This month has been going well so far. It sounds like cheesy new age hippie b.s. but I've been doing yoga just at home over the past month - went to my first class at the yoga works last night and it was rad. I totally loved it. It was a good work out, I was sweating and all of that but I felt so relaxed and had peace of mind toward the end and it was lovely. During the end breathing meditations this guy in the class fell asleep and started snoring, haha.

Other than that, we're going to be moving soon. We're looking at other options. The reality is with only one of us working right now we can't afford to stay where we are. We're paying an astronomical rent fee because we have a Laguna Beach zip code and it's so much more expensive than everywhere else. Plus I'm over Laguna Beach. It's not the town I grew up in. The schools here are crap and I don't want Connor to go to school at the junior high here for very long. I'm not upset at having the move or break our lease. I probably should be, because moving is a pain in the butt and breaking lease will probably mess with my credit. But actually... the universe will unfold as it should and all will be well. Changing residencies is just a small thing and I think at this point moving out is a step moving forward. The next town up the road is cheaper, and we can get a newer place to rent that's just as big as the place we're in, and pay significantly less. And Connor can go to one of the best schools in the county. We have our eye on a place that will be available in September so keep your fingers crossed and if anyone here is ever in town, the welcome mat is out.

Pooter I will be talking with you soon. I'm sorry you are having lonely moments. I wish I could offer some words of wisdom and encouragement but it would be presumptuous of me to assume you deal with things a certain way and then tell you how to handle these bouts of loneliness. Only think I can offer is that you just got out of a long term relationship so the lonely moments aren't easy but they are normal. The detachment process doesn't end with the saying "I'm single."

Den_B I am SO happy that things are looking up for you and that you are happy too and are exploring life from the outside rather than from behind a computer monitor. It would be cool to be able to talk to you more on the PS3 network - it's just these stupid time zones getting in the way. stash isn't up til all hours of the night and day anymore so he's a bit hard to reach for those living a half a world away.

As for Connor? He got to go to the Valve office in Washington yesterday but he's already back on the road and will be home tomorrow. Had to cut the trip short since the family he was visiting were all exposed to the swine flu (my brother in law has it) - so basically, Connor and the grandparents spent a day in Washington then had to turn around and drive home 4 days early. Oink!

yoga would be a good medium for relaxing.

good luck with the move whirly, i hope its as little trouble as possible. Even though connors trip got cut short, im sure he wouldn't be complaining too much if he got to go to the valve office. :P

in regards to those metric mixes... they are decent, not amazing, but decent. I still prefer other mixes that he's done though

@Den_B: well done, well done! I've had years like those, luckily I feel like usually you don't go back to them so easilly once you break free of them.

@whirly: I think moving can be fun, especially because that whole fresh start thing might be good. Walls of old houses can some times smell like bad memories, although I don't know if that's true in your case.

Speaking of moving, I just got my own place again in Santa Cruz for cheap, it's more in the hills but the thing has an amazing view of a river/valley and isn't in the cluster fuck district. Of course right after I wrote the check and bought a new synthesizer my car battery died. So my poor bank account is taking a beating this week :(

Awww... Well, at least car batteries aren't THAT expensive. Glad to hear you got your own place! I'm hot on the trail of a new place for myself.

@Whirls: I love how much support you give us all!!! Your post made me smile, real bad, when I read it the other day. :-D The move will be cathartic. No worries, m'dear. ::hugs::

@Den B

Glad things are bouncing for you! Remember,the computer is a lifesucker!

@Biff

I have that happen to me alot..I buy something, and then something dies or goes wrong. Case in point was when I recently bought a car stereo, 2 speakers died a few days later.

Throw a pic of your river/valley view bro!

@Whirly

I think Yoga's cool for you. Let the calm mind flow as the winds in the Air Conditioner. Got a CWU Yoga Mat?

It sucks when you have to move cause of the funds. My mom would be the current record holder of having us 3 kids (including me) move with her for about 6 times before I hit 21. My mom was a single parent with 2 jobs so she was always trying to find the cheapest apartment to rent so she could save more money, more food, etc. So imagine living in apartments with 2nd floors and going up and down the stairs carrying all that heavy shit. Anyway, I hope you get that place for your family. 'Chemical' Housewarming party is on the horizon baby!

@Pooter

..and you are moving to where?..Any preffered places yet.

@Tom and Ed

Come out and say Hi!

Since everybody is moving out soon, I am too in the process of finding a new place ( I think I mentioned it earlier) but been lazy at the moment. Redondo Beach is the primary goal, since most of my friends are from there!

Since getting back from Vacation I have been on a major fitness kick. I realized I need to get back into shape again (all you do on the boat is EAT!). I kinda fear hitting the 200lbs mark which I am hovering just under. I am 6" and It's not like I am out of shape, but I know I am not active much anymore. I am looking to work on my back since I know I already have a good lower body workout. Any good (and cheap) tips?

i tend to just do weights, skipping, running and crunches etc. Do that with a healthy diet and shitloads of water and you should be fine. i remember i went from like 106 kilograms to 80kgs from doing that. Another tip would be to stay away from weed :P... doesn't help motivate lol

best of luck

Aw, it's okay xdankstahx. Remember to breathe.

Speaking of being okay, after an EXHAUSTING week, after sending out AT LEAST 28 e-mails and contacting AT LEAST 10 people by phone, scheduling appointments and looking at FIFTEEN different apartments in THREE different neighborhoods, I FINALLY FOUND A PLACE TO LIVE!!!

Aw, man, I'll have to post some photos up here when I end up moving in, but the room is huge, the energy there is absolutely phenomenal, and it's going to be AMAAAAAAZING!!!

Other than that, continuing to meet some very, very interesting new people. ;-)

UNDERWORLD ON FRIDAY! CELEBRATION!!!!!!!!!!

With my head down, I learned something from my job today:

'The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives and the dreams shall never die.'

-Edward Kennedy

Oh...And have fun Poot!

Hey Ryno - I'm no health fitness guru but I took up yoga recently. I started off doing it at home. I shamefully put on some (not all) weight after being so proud of losing 60 lbs in 2005 and keeping it off... until I dropped my 22 year old smoking habit back in May. Plus getting older, the metabolism slows down naturally which doesn't help matters. I enjoy walking but I don't like hittin the gym all that much but I needed to do something because my body is reacting to this stage of my life... Anyway I've been going to a bunch of different classes and I plan on continuing because it just feels so good physically and mentally when I get out of a position and when the class is over. On one hand it helps me destress but in some ways it's also a sweat-inducing challenge because I'm not the most coordinated and I've never been flexible. But in just the time I've been doing it I'm able to do things now that I didn't think my body was capable of doing. So that's cool. What's great about the practice is you are strengthening your body while using your own body weight as leverage. Not sure if you're looking to bulk up or just get toned but yoga's great for building upper body strength and building lean and long as opposed to squat and strong. There's some incredible looking people both men and women in my classes who got their bodies from practicing yoga alone and it's crazy what they are capable of!

And Pooter, congrats on your new place!

We scored ourselves a new place too. In the neighborhood we hoping for. I'm so relieved. I absolutely cannot wait to move out of where we are now.

Getting the place turned out to be an extraordinary pain in our backsides. I've reiterated the story so many times I don't have the energy to tell it again let alone type it all out - so I'll spare you all my boring life story. The good thing is we got the place, the folks at our current residence were understanding about us breaking our lease several months early, and after everything that went on in the past year and a half it will be nice to wipe the slate clean in our lives and in our home.

Now we have to deal with the physical aspects of moving. Those who've been to our place know we live up 4 flights of stairs and have large solid can't-be-moved-by-your-friends-and-loaded-into-a-pick-up-truck type furniture, We also have an upright piano and some new additions to our family which are tropical fish in a 50 gallon aquarium. So that'll be fun. :lol:

Ooh, that doesn't sound fun, Whirls. But yay for the new place in the neighborhood you wanted!!! NICE!

My piano is a weighted keyboard--small enough to fit in my new room. :D
